Disappointed - We were in Charleston for one day. We specifically chose this tour because the itinerary hit all the historic highlights (13 of them) that we wanted to see and show family who had never been there before. It was specific to which stops we would see. The guide was knowledgeable about Charleston and shared many personal experiences, took us down alleys and into a couple of gardens and larger homes of people he knew. It was interesting to hear stories of people he knew and old Charleston social history but we saw only 5 of the 13 places listed, did not havre long enough time after his commentary to take a few pics or get a good look at particular historical places - for instance we stopped across the street of the Nathaniel Russell house to look at an example of the architectural design of a particular building he had already explained to us. When finished we kept on walking right past the Nathaniel Russell house to see water damage of another home - as I looked up I noticed it and snapped a shot as we walked by. Some of historical landmarks we had hoped to see that were on the itinerary that we missed were the circular congressional church, St Philip’s church, the powder, dock street theater, 4 corners of the law, old exchange and provost dungeon, fort Sumter national monument, the battery, and Nathaniel Russell House. I felt this was a large portion of what we had hoped to see and was greatly disappointed that we spent over $100 for our family and two hours of our time in the heat seeing things we didn’t want to and missing things important to historical Charleston. We had plans to go to patriots point and reservations for dinner that made it difficult to get back to the things we missed. Highly disappointed with the expectations of this tour and felt like there was false advertising with it.

So So Tour - Guide is well informed. However, he spoke too fast and often difficult to understand at times. Disappointed overall.

There’s better tours in town - We had a horrible experience. The guide mumbled and had a cackling laugh at the end of every sentence. Showed up in dirty clothes pulling up his pants constantly. Spent 35 minutes in one cemetery where all he did was point out ghoulish carvings on headstones and cackle. . For somebody who has done tours of Charleston for 47 years he should be able to read the group.
