Great!! Would recommend to anybody! - Dave was AWESOME. He was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He had TONS of information and all of it was really interesting.

Found out history is steeped in brothels - Unfortunately I do not remember our tour guides name (no name tag) but he was incredible. Very funny and a great personality for the tour. He was very knowledgeable and did of good job of making the tour feel personable. It was a ton of fun.

The best tour we did! - This tour is not a ghost tour. They will tell you this 6 times before you start the tour. If you still complain that you thought it was a ghost tour, you're stupid. Don't like my bluntness or words I used, then don't go on this tour. It's rated R. There's swearing. There's crime, corruption and scandal. It was the best tour I've been on!! Our tour guide Bruce was so knowledgeable and funny. In fact we had such a great time on Wednesday night, we booked the Haunted Jail tour for Friday night.

Would book again - We did the Dark Side of Charleston walking tour, and Randy was the absolute best. He was engaging, animated, and had a lot of anecdotes from his own experiences having grown up in Charleston. Really a great time. Tour was 1.5-2 hours and about no more than a mile walking. Highly recommend to anyone looking to hear some fun stories.

Diseases and killings galore - Our tour guide Ben was super awesome! He was knowledgeable and I'm very funny. He kept a really good pace. You definitely find out the dark side of Charleston and a lot of their leaders were not great people.

Excellent Tour for Locals - This was definitely the best Charleston tour I've ever done (way better than a ghost tour). We had an awesome guide and a small group, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
The only reason I deducted a star is because we initially booked our preferred day and time, and the company ended up cancelling because we were the only ones who booked. That feels pretty unprofessional, especially because their tours aren't cheap, and that's really not okay when you're catering primarily to tourists. Being local, we were able to reschedule, but it did mean we had to take this tour on a work night. Not ideal for a lot of people!

had a lot of potential - This had the potential to be really interesting based on other reviews and the description. While Braxton had some really great stories to tell he seemed to be trying too hard - my husband and are not strangers to "mature" topics or language, but Braxton seemed to just really go for the shock value of saying certain things which was really just a distraction because the stories are interesting and shocking on their own! Unfortunately, all of his stories were only focused on brothels and no other types of "darkness" like prohibition, etc. The concept is awesome - just needs a little work!

I would like to recommend... - I would like to recommend the tour but I didn’t get to experience it. I thought that I had signed up for a 10 pm tour. But I missed the call saying they were departing on the 8 pm tour. I asked them if I could switch to the 10 pm and they said it was cancelled. I am asking if I can get a refund because Wednesday was the only evening we were available.

Very Raunchy Tour - We were expecting our “Dark Side” tour to feature stories of crime, corruption, plagues, bordellos, gangsters, moonshine, illegal gambling, etc, much like other similar tours in other cities. Instead it was mostly a vulgarity-laced sex narrative. We bailed early and got a refund (to their credit, they issued the refund without objection). I give two stars instead of one because they encouraged people who were uncomfortable to go get a refund, and we did.
