Perfect introduction to the Holy City - Daniel and company were an excellent introduction for a couple of newbie Arizonans to Charleston. We loved Daniel’s droll sense of humor and his fascinating stories of the beautiful homes as well as personal stories from his childhood growing up there. It was especially interesting that their employees are all Charlestonians from generations back. Hi trusty draft horse was a gem.

You have to see it all for yourself. Love it here! - This was our first time visiting Charleston,SC, it’s beautiful here we would come back. I think fall would be better for the ones that don’t like heat. The food is great, the people was very nice. Every activity we did was great, however some was a little pricey. Some was affordable.

Enjoyable ride! - We took the carriage ride today and really enjoyed it. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The only thing that we didn’t enjoy is we couldn’t hear a lot of what he was saying due to loud street noise and him turning forward . We would really suggest possibly providing him a headset and speakers in the back .

Wish we had a different driver! - We quickly realized we should have done another carriage company, but it was too late! Eric was knowledgeable when he shared info about Charleston, but we passed lots of places that other tours were talking about and he never said a thing. Lots of jokes and family anecdotes though. We were in the 3rd row and had a VERY difficult time hearing him. He did not project his voice well and should have stopped talking when he was facing forward, because then we didn’t hear a thing. I did t realize how bad it was until we were walking around after the ride and I could hear what other drivers were saying from 1/2 a block away. I told the gentleman helping us off the carriage that they need speakers and he did not seem to care.

Worst CarriageTour I Have Been on in Charleston - I don’t usually leave reviews, but Eric did a very poor job. My family comes to Charleston every year for the last 20 years. We always do the carriage ride and every single time we’ve enjoyed it. After so many times, some of them information is the same, which is to be expected, but it’s always informational and we learn something new every time. Eric spent more time talking and making lame jokes about his family and the people in Charleston than he did about sharing information about the wonderful city. As we passed by churches, the armory, and homes, if he did say anything it was in passing between the jokes he was trying to share and stories about his family. My daughter had been before. Her boyfriend hadn’t and this was his first time to Charleston. I had said how fun and amazing these rides are. When we got off the carriage I apologized to him and said these are always awesome but this lame. He said I’m glad I’m not the only one. He said I know more about his family than about Charleston. That was our sad experience, very very disappointing.
