Rusty made it for us in Chandigarh - Wow. What an experience. As a family of 5 with 3 architects on board we were probably tough clients as we wanted to see a lot. Rusty was awesome. He picked us up from the airport and dropped us off at Pierre Jeanneret's house where he had organised for us to stay for the 3 nights. We wouldn't have known about it otherwise. A real gem. The following morning he took us to the Capitol Complex and then proceeded to take us to the most amazing cafe and then the many architecturally designed museums around Chandigarh. We had another fabulous dinner and the next day we were off again, covering the Rock Garden, Memorial Park and University buildings. Another awesome meal and a sneak peak at the Neelam Theatre. What a treat. The final morning he kindly took us back to the Capitol Complex as the weather was much better and he managed to get into the interior of the Assembly building which was my architectural highlight. He then dropped us back to the airport. Rusty is very kind, very funny and his discussions about Chandigarh and India in general are so engaging. We all learnt so much. We talked about it afterwards how we would have only skimmed the surface of Chandigarh had we decided to go it alone. I'm so glad we used him - as normally we just go it alone. Do it! You won't regret it. The complete Chandigarh experience!

A Refreshing Escape from the Smog! - I needed a break from the city smog and escape the pollution of Chandigarh in this winder, and the Lower Shivalik Mountain ranges seemed like the perfect getaway. I have lived here for over ten years but Rusty took me to the outskirts of the city where honestly I didn't even know existed. Rusty is a friendly guide with a deep love for the area, and we headed to Forests just outside Chandigarh. As soon as we reached the forest, I could feel the difference. The air was cooler, fresher, and smelled of pine and earth. It was a relief to leave the city noise behind. We started walking through the area, surrounded by tall trees—oaks, pines, and deodars—creating a peaceful, almost magical vibe. Rusty was full of info, pointing out plants, animals, and even sharing stories about the place. He talked about the leopards that roam the forest and how the area is home to some rare birds like parakeets and hornbills. He also explained how the locals use certain plants for medicine. To make the day even better, Rusty had packed some delicious snacks—perfect for a little forest picnic. Between the cool air, the greenery, and the snacks, it felt like a perfect escape from the smog and stress of the city. It was a fun, relaxing day, and definitely a reminder of how refreshing nature can be. If you're looking at low commitment escape from the city, I can't recommend him enough :)

Great local insight and experiences! - Rusty was an excellent host! It was great to see the city through the eyes of someone who has lived there their whole life. I was mostly interested in architecture and Rusty was able to customise the tour to what I was most interested in and how much energy I had each day. He always had a few options to present for activities or snacks which was great for us, I traveled with a friend but also had Rusty show me around solo for another 2 days. I was a little intimidated as a solo female traveller but having Rusty around helped ease any fears I might have had. We ate some really amazing food - some of the best I’ve had in India. He was also happy to provide options for some white person food when my tummy needed a break! I think one of the best aspects is Rustys background as a journalist - it was great to have conversations about politics and society that provided different insight to the rest of our time in India! Thanks Rusty! Legend!

Great alternative thing to do for weekend - Had an amazing day exploring a lesser-known side of Chandigarh on this guided tour! We started with a trek into a nearby forest area—perfect for anyone who loves nature and a bit of adventure. The hike was pretty easygoing, making it great for all fitness levels, and the scenery was just beautiful. But what really set this tour apart was our guide, Rusty. He’s not just your average guide; he knows the area inside and out. Rusty surprised us by taking us to this hidden gem of a spot deep in the forest. It’s one of those places that even the locals don’t know about, and it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The views were incredible, and the sense of peace was just what I needed. Throughout the hike, Rusty shared tons of interesting facts about the local flora and fauna. I left feeling like I’d not only had a great time but also learned a lot about the natural world around Chandigarh. Highly recommend for a weekend of alternative adventure

Where else but Rusty tours :) - Hey guys, just had the most amazing tour of Chandigarh with my girlfriend, and let me tell you, Rustam was an absolute rockstar! The whole experience was super chill vibes. I didn't know the quiet retirement city of Chandigarh could be so lit!! We kicked things off at the Rock Garden, and man, it was like walking through a wonderland. The sculptures and secret pathways were so cool. Rustam had all these interesting stories but also gave us plenty of space to explore and have our little moments. Then we checked out the Capitol Complex. Rustam's knowledge about Le Corbusier’s architecture was spot-on. He gave us the lowdown on all the buildings but also let us wander and enjoy the beauty at our own pace. We also visited the Lesuire Valley, where there was a picnic happening with his contacts and we played hula-hoops, juggling and tried and failed miserably at tight rope walking. Rustam is an excellent man who plans these little surprises at every corner - felt like man knew us since forever. For lunch, Rustam took us to Cafe JC’s, a perfect spot for couples. The vibe was just right, and the food was amazing. Rustam's suggestion of the tandoori platter was on point! In the evening, outside the tour's official hours Rustam suggested a quick trip to Morni Hills. The drive was scenic, and the views were breathtaking. It was the perfect ending to our romantic adventure. We drowned some beers with a view of the hills while Rustam was our designated driver who kept the spirits high great at giving us privacy while still being there to guide us and share local insights. Highest recommend! If you’re planning a romantic trip to Chandigarh, you’ve gotta do a tour with Rustam. He knows all the best spots and makes sure you have the best time. Totally recommend it for couples looking to explore and enjoy Chandigarh!

Family Fun in Chandigarh with Rustam: A Perfect Day Out - Just got back from an amazing family tour of Chandigarh with Rustam, and wow, it was fantastic! We were traveling with our two kids, and Rustam made sure everyone had a blast. We started at the Rock Garden, which was a hit with the kids. They loved exploring the quirky sculptures and hidden pathways. Rustam had all these fun facts and stories that kept even the little ones engaged. Then we headed to Sukhna Lake. Rustam arranged a boat ride that was a total win – the kids were thrilled spotting birds and enjoying the water. The scenery was beautiful, and it was a perfect, relaxing family moment. Next, we visited the famous Zakir Hussain Rose Garden. The kids ran around the colorful flower beds while Rustam shared interesting tidbits about the different roses and the annual Rose Festival. The garden was like a floral wonderland, and the kids loved it. For some playtime, Rustam took us to the Children’s Traffic Park. The kids had a blast riding bikes and learning about road safety in such a fun way. It’s such a unique spot, and Rustam knew exactly how to make it interesting for the kids. We also visited the Capitol Complex to marvel at the architecture. Rustam's storytelling made Le Corbusier’s buildings come to life. He pointed out cool details and explained everything in a way that even our kids found fascinating. For lunch, Rustam took us to the iconic Indian Coffee House. The retro ambiance and simple, delicious food were perfect. The kids enjoyed the dosa and Rustam's stories about the place’s history added a special touch. Throughout the tour, Rustam was patient, engaging, and super kid-friendly. He made sure the kids were having fun while we soaked in the sights and history. If you’re visiting Chandigarh with your family, a tour with Rustam is a must. He knows all the best spots and makes the whole experience fun and memorable for everyone. Highly recommended for a perfect family day out!
