Melissani Cave - Discover the captivating Melissani Lake, often referred to as the ‘Cave of the Nymphs,’ a true gem of Kefalonia! This extraordinary geological wonder is a must-visit. Descend into this subterranean marvel, where a collapsed section of the cave roof allows sunlight to pour in, illuminating the crystal-clear, brackish waters in stunning shades of turquoise and deep blue. As you glide across the lake in traditional rowboats, you’ll be enchanted by the interplay of light and shadow, creating an almost ethereal glow. Our local boatmen will share intriguing insights into the cave’s history and geology, including the ancient stalactites formed over millennia. You’ll also hear the poignant myth of the nymph Melissani, who, according to legend, drowned here out of unrequited love for the god Pan – a tale supported by archaeological finds of ancient artifacts.

Drogarati Cave - Drogarati is a remarkable cave with stunning formations of stalactites and stalagmites. Myrtos Beach - Myrtos Beach is undoubtedly one of the main attractions in Kefalonia. Located 29 km north of Argostoli, it is set in a beautiful area surrounded by towering verdant hills. It has been awarded numerous times for its cleanliness and natural beauty. We visit the spot for a photo stop of the breathtaking view.

Λίμνη Καραβόμυλος - Karavomylos Lake is a unique natural phenomenon situated near the village of Karavomylos on the island of Kefalonia. It’s a small, brackish lake directly connected to the underground current originating from the Katavothres sinkholes on the opposite side of the island, near Argostoli. This geological marvel means that seawater from the Ionian Sea enters Katavothres, travels thousands of meters underground, mixes with freshwater, and then re-emerges in Karavomylos Lake before flowing into the sea. The lake itself is a tranquil spot. Its crystal-clear waters allow visitors to observe various fish and the fascinating phenomenon of the water bubbling up from the earth. A watermill, which historically utilized the lake’s outflow, adds to its picturesque charm. Ducks and swans often glide gracefully across its surface, enhancing the serene atmosphere. Karavomylos Lake serves as a testament to Kefalonia’s remarkable geological landscape and is a popular, albeit peaceful, tourist attraction.
-
Agia Efimia - Agia Efimia is a charming, traditional fishing village on the eastern coast of Kefalonia, Greece. It’s known for its picturesque harbor, array of tavernas and cafes, and as a popular base for exploring the island’s stunning beaches and natural beauty.
-
Assos - Assos is a picturesque village nestled on the northwest coast of Kefalonia, Greece. Renowned for its stunning natural beauty and charming Venetian architecture, it’s a popular tourist destination. The village is built amphitheatrically around a small, horseshoe-shaped bay, with vibrant, pastel-colored houses cascading down the hillside towards the crystal-clear turquoise waters. Dominating the headland above the village are the ruins of a 16th-century Venetian castle, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Ionian Sea and the rugged coastline. A winding, scenic road leads down to the village, where a small pebble beach invites swimming and sunbathing. Assos boasts a tranquil atmosphere, with a handful of tavernas and cafes lining the waterfront, perfect for enjoying fresh seafood and local delicacies. Its idyllic setting and laid-back vibe make it a truly unforgettable spot on Kefalonia.
