A walk through history - The tour was simultaneously educational and very interesting. This tour helped to put in perspective not only the history and culture of Afro Brazilians today but helped give me more context about Brazilian culture today. I enjoy seeing the birthplace of samba, the slave port, and local museums. The walk was long and hot but worth every step. Our tour guide Natalia was very knowledgeable, personable and funny. We would love to come back and do more tours with her again.

Afro/Brazilian - This tour is a deep dive into the rich history of Afro-Brazilian culture. I had the privilege of a private tour with Nathalia S., who was absolutely amazing—her knowledge of Brazil’s history of slavery was truly impressive. I left feeling both enlightened and eager to share what I had learned with friends and family. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in history and culture. Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes, bring a bottle of water, and pack some patience for the journey!

Very much recommended - We had an amazing tour about the history of the afro-brazilian culture in Little Africa. Our tour guide was Ana Julia, she answered all of our questions, showed us important landmarks, two museums and gave us a lot of important background information about the sites. I feel that this tour is an hommage to afro brazilian culture and an honest and horrific story of a history of brazil that is often left out of the textbooks. Thank you so much for offering this tour, I very much recommend it to everyone.

Exquisite outting! - Excellent experience with one of the best guide (Damiana) we've had. The walk through the city gave us a comprehensive and insightful perspective on its history, culture, and hidden gems. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and attentive to our interests, ensuring we experienced both the iconic landmarks and lesser-known local spots. The pace was perfect, allowing us to take in the sights, capture great photos, and enjoy thoughtful recommendations for food and activities. Overall, it was a memorable and enriching experience that we would highly recommend to anyone visiting the city.

Knowledgeable, organised and brilliant expose of the African Brazillian experience of slavery, resistance and survival - The arrangements for the tour were clear, tour guide was on time and so pleasant - willing to answer any query. This was a great opportunity to view parts of the city through the lens of transatlantic slavery. We learned so much. Can't recommend highly enough!
