Great walking tour with the guide Marcus Paulus! - We did the River Free Walking Tour with the guide Marcus Paulus, whose was exceptional. The guide had a deep historical knowledge of the city of Rio de Janeiro (including all over Brazil) and made our tourism experience incredibly enriching. Even with only two people joining his group (it was a rainy day), he committed to performing the walking tour in the same way and even personalized the experience going through places we would be most interested in. Thus, he not only guided us through the sights, but also provided us with fascinating narratives that really deepened our understanding of the city and its history. The guide also made sure we were always safe during the tour due to his previous experience in this branch. In conclusion, it was an excellent experience to take the tour with the guide Marcus Paulus and I highly recommend it.

The very best free walking tour - We had two amazing free walking tours in mid season (May 2024) in Rio, one in the historical centre and the other one in the Little Africa neighbourhood. Our guides were Jessica and Laetitia, we couldn’t be luckier! They were super nice, and provide a lot of historical and interesting information, apart from the best tips to explore the city. If you will visit Rio, you can’t miss these free walking tour!! Obrigado 🇧🇷

An afternoon well spent - We had a wonderful afternoon walking with Benjamin around the old part of Aix. He is knowledgeable and at the same time open to discussing history and new viewpoints. Doing such a tour opens up the city in a way you cannot see if you just walk alone. Very enjoyable.

Excellent City Tour with Brilliant Tour Guide! - Joined this tour with my son and had Jessica who gave us the background & history regarding the city. There were only 3 of us on the English tour as the majority went on the Portuguese tour. Jessica was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly and showed us Theatro Municipal, the main Library, Cineland, Selarón Steps, Lapa Arches, the awesome Cathedral etc. She did a good job and also helped us in finding football match tickets for the Carioca Cup Semi Finals at Maracana Stadium that night with pick up and drop off from our hotel! Very impressed and highly recommend her for the city tour should you require a brilliant tour guide for Rio. Remember to tip generously too! Highly recommended!!

Delightful experience - so happy we took this tour - Yesterday, my husband and I went on a three-hour walking tour led by Rafael. We highly recommend the tour itself and in particular if Rafael is your guide. Rafael, born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, has a vast knowledge of the city and, as importantly, a deep love for his city. Additionally, his English language skills are terrific and his energy infectious. He was quite happy to answer any questions that we had and even provided us with his contact info, should we have additional questions during our stay in Rio. If you are looking for a very personable and knowledgable guide to Rio, you should look no further than Rafael and Rio Free Walking Tour. I know I sound like a paid endorsement but we really did have a marvelous time.

Rio in 1 1/2 hours?! - Although we saw some great sites, the guide made us feel like he needed to be somewhere else, and our 2 1/2-hour tour ended after 1 1/2 hours. It was not an inexpensive tour so we left feeling taken advantage of (and perhaps not seeing everything we were supposed to see?). Perhaps a price adjustment is in order.......
