Train, a term that encompasses both the essence of Mineiro culture and the iconic Locomotive, a form of transportation deeply ingrained in numerous people’s lives. On our journey, we’ll be privileged to experience Brazil’s sole daily passenger train service. This train features contemporary locomotives and opulent coaches sourced from Romania, complete with climate control, wireless internet, dining cars and an on-board restaurant offering all the conveniences for a pleasurable trip. Following this delightful excursion, our travels will proceed, either by car or van, to the historic Bicame de Pedras aqueduct. It serves as the starting point for our leisurely 8 km hike along the Diamond Route of the Estrada Real, leading to the Conceição Church in Catas Altas. This is accompanied by a lunch at a local eatery renowned for its superb range of crafted beers and a breathtaking vista of the Serra do Caraça. The day continues with a narrated exploration of Matriz and a photo-op at the lookout before we head back to BH.
