Best day so far on the cruise that I am on. - Felix, Steve and our driver were outstanding. Very knowledgeable and helpful.
Sekondi-Takoradi, Ghana completely captured my heart. From the warmth of the people to the stunning coastline and vibrant culture, every moment felt welcoming and alive. The city has such an authentic energy — busy markets, incredible local food, colourful fishing harbours.
What stood out most was the kindness and pride of the community. Everywhere we went, people were friendly, helpful, and genuinely happy to share their beautiful city. The mix of history, ocean views, music, and daily life creates an experience that feels both exciting and deeply personal.
If you want to experience the real spirit of Ghana, Sekondi-Takoradi is a place you absolutely should visit. Rich in culture, full of life, and impossible not to love.

Great partnership between driver and guide producing a great tour. - Our tour guide- Patrick was at the port before we were even at the port. I texted tour operator that I was on the ship's veranda wearing yellow. And I waved to a person who I thought was carrying a placard with my name on it. He waved back. So as soon as we were cleared by immigration, we rushed out and walked directly to him. We were the first 10 people who walked out of the ship and so we were the first car that exited the port. Our driver Joseph was very skilled so we got to Kakum National Park ahead of everyone so we finished it very quickly as we did not encounter any lines. We headed to Cape Coast Castle and our guide was very skilled in getting us a local guide quickly. Our tour guide was on top of all the activity and time we needed to finish an activity without being rushed. Our driver and guide were even instrumental in getting a ship hosted Shore Excursion bus in getting to port on time as it was left behind by the other busses which were escorted. Very good partnership between driver and guide. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Historical Takoradi Tour - Our tour guide Felix was an absolute treasure. He picked us up right by where our cruise was docked with a sign clearly saying my name on it and it was smooth sailing from the very beginning. Felix is incredibly passionate about history and loves Ghana deeply. My dad and I loved hearing him talk about the local history and we were more interested in the castles and local history than the wildlife and nature anyway, so instead of Kakum National Park, we went to both Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle. The stories here are incredibly important to tell and it was a truly humbling and chilling experience. The locals are kind and welcoming, and we also had a deliciously prepared lunch ready for us at Komodo full of local dishes. We were looking for an authentic peek into Takoradi life and culture and that is exactly what we got and more. Highly recommend this company and their team.

One of our best shore excursions!! - I cannot say enough things about our guide, Tony, and our driver, Michael. They were on-time and kept us on schedule. I truly appreciate the care and concern they displayed. We got lots of information about Ghana and felt well taken care of. Thank you both!

Kakum National Park Tour & Takoradi-Sekondi Local Tour - done by the best - BlasTours provided one of many highlights of a recent round the world cruise, with 29 ports where I and friends (up to 46 of us) did tours with local operators. In each port I read scores of reviews, to find the best tour operator, and BlasTours is the one in Takoradi. Mimi runs the show, and she and her crew are exemplary. This year, Felix took nine of us to the canopy walkway of Kakum National Park, and he was marvelous, a guide on top of his game. He made the one-way, two plus hour drive, a pleasure and knew the answer to essentially all of our many questions. Thirty-seven other friends from the ship took their local Takoradi-Sekondi tour, which I had enjoyed with 25 folks last year. Again they had Patrick and Tony, and again there was copious praise for them both. Having now done both tours, I highly recommend each experience. Kakum is unique and well worth the travel time. The variety of sites on the local tour is great. But what stands out even more is the quality of BlasTours.

Amazing tour - Very good excursion inspite of booking error, we booked another excursion and ended up on this excursion. The company graciously offered to make amends and refunded the difference in price at our return to ship. Our driver Joseph and guide Justice were excellent. Waiting for us at port and nice suv. The drive to the castles is over 90
Minutes and traffic is heavy with two lane roads with many large trucks and tractor trailers. The castles are very interesting with the dark side of slave trading a somber moment . Justice gave a thorough tour explaining history and the events.Lunch was at a local restaurant that was fabulous, another couple ate with us who were on the same tour in a different vehicle, they gave us each a variety of food that could have fed a family of 6! Got us back to the ship on time .

Great tour, fantastic tour guide! - We really loved this tour of Ghana and our guide, Patrick was excellent. We enjoyed seeing the more rural villages on our way to the canopy and Patrick was very knowledgeable on the culture and history of his country. The canopy was fantastic, and afterwards, we went to Cape Coast Castle. This experience was deeply impactful and one that I still think about and will never forget. Thank you Patrick for a wonderful and memorable tour, we hope to come back!

Blastours is FANTASTIC! - Great shore excursion! We were picked up promptly and Cleve was our guide. Very nice A/C conditioned van with WiFi. Our group of 8 decided we would like to see the UNESCO World Heritage sites vs the swinging bridge and Cleve made it happen. What an AWESOME day learning about Ghana. Cleve was super-knowledgeable and gave us in-depth insights on the history, people and daily life here. The provided lunch was excellent!

Mimi and Blastours is the best - Mimi helped me organize a tour of Takoradi for 25 of us coming from the Zuiderdam, and she is excellent. All the glowing reviews I read on the Internet are accurate as she and Blastours are quality from start to finish. Patrick was our guide on one van, and Tony on the other. Both were also excellent. Six fantastic stops. Especially good was seeing wooden boat building.
