Taking a tour of the Romanian monasteries and visiting Cozia Monastery will reveal why it attracts thousands of tourists.
For over 600 years, the Olt River on one side and Mount Cozia on the other have safeguarded this ancient monastery. Its fortified walls, which once protected against invaders, now seem to enclose a Garden of Eden, a place of mystery and enchanting beauty.

For those who appreciate genuine cultural experiences, whether romantic or adventurous, Sibiu provides everything needed to unwind and enjoy, leaving daily stress behind for a fun and memorable journey with a private guide.
The charm of this historic citadel, recognized for its excellence, lies in its architecture, street layout, cultural and artistic heritage, and stunning natural surroundings, as it is bordered by the Fagaras and Lotru mountains.
- Lutheran Evangelical Cathedral & Tower - Are you a thrill-seeker with a passion for culture and history, eager to impress friends with a photo from a 55-meter high tower? If so, the Sibiu Evangelical Cathedral, a significant historical monument, is a must-visit on a one-day tour of Sibiu, the citadel town.
To reach the tower’s vantage point, which stands at 74 meters, one must climb 192 steps leading to the four smaller towers. From there, visitors can enjoy a spectacular view of Sibiu and capture unforgettable photos.
-
Big Square (Piata Mare) - Big Square serves as Sibiu’s historical center, home to important historical monuments, many of which are part of the UNESCO heritage.
-
Piaka Mica - The Square is divided into two sections by Ocnei Street, which descends under the Bridge of Lies towards the Lower Town.
The northern and eastern sides of the square follow the contour of the second fortification belt, forming a circular shape. The buildings to the left of Ocnei Street have a concave shape, following the contour of the first fortification belt, separating the Small Square from Huet Square.
The buildings in the Small Square date from the 14th to the 16th centuries, with one exception: they do not include the massive arched portal characteristic of the Large Square and Bălcescu Street. The ground floor loggia, arched and semi-open towards the square with semi-circular arcades supported by structural elements, is typical of the houses in the Small Square. These buildings once housed craftsmen’s workshops, with merchandise displayed in these spaces.
