Pagsanjan
Reaching the falls is most commonly achieved by embarking on the Shooting the rapids boat excursion, launched from any resort situated alongside the Bumbungan and Balanac Rivers. Two competent and certified boatmen navigate one to three guests in long, slender wooden or fiberglass canoes towards the falls, a trip that generally requires over an hour of upstream paddling depending on the volume of traffic and the current water level. During the trip, passengers navigate the lush, narrow Pagsanjan Gorge, veined with massive boulders, rocks and mini waterfalls. The upstream ride culminates in a natural pool beneath the falls, from which an optional raft journey guides visitors pass a sheet of falling water into the Devil’s cave hidden behind the falls. The return journey, known as Shooting the rapids, provides an exciting adventure through fourteen rapids as the adept boatmen skillfully navigate the boat through the constrictive rocks on its downstream path.
