Interesting history lesson - Our guide was very nice and enthusiantic about the history of the city. We visited several underground caves and places which were located under old lava flows. Our guide told us many interesting parts of the catanian history. It was very informative!

Spectacular underground Catania - Extremely interesting visit which allowed us to discover an unknown Catania and its history through underground stratigraphic analysis. Oreste, our very good, super competent and very friendly guide, led us on this journey full of information and history. Super recommended I would say not to be missed!!!

Very interesting tour - Very interesting tour with Mathilde. Covered parts of Catania that we did not know about and would not have found on our own. She was very knowledgeable and really explained things about the city and the 17c volcanic eruption and earthquake.

A highly recommended activity! - A very informative excursion. Orestes, an archaeologist, is very knowledgeable about the history and geology of Catania. We learned a lot!

A fundamental stage - I recommend the underground tour to all those who stop, even if only for a short time, in Catania. They are fascinating and are found in the most unexpected places. Unfortunately I have to point out that all the sites are accessible via quite steep steps, so if you have difficulty walking it could be a problem.

What a Pleasant Surprise! - Wonderful tour of the underground sites of Catania! We really enjoyed an interesting tour with Matilda. She took us around the city and underground giving an excellent history of the city, the affects of past volcanic eruptions and how the people have adapted to living so close to a constantly evolving landscape. Some of the underground locations were in surprisingly interesting places; for example entering a local restaurant/bar to see a grotto with fresh running water! Highly recommend this tour!

Good tour but NOT private tour as promised - When I booked the tour, Viator description said it's a private tour. I asked and had confirmation that we will have a private tour. So I was surprised and rather disappointed to find 2 other people had shown up for our 'private' tour. The guide was very informative and engaging, but our experience was tempered by their business practice. If they intend to add people at their conenience to a tour, they should not advertise it as 'private'. Also be aware there can be fleas - possibly from the numerous street cats. I got 30 or so bites somewhere around the Gammazita Well. At least they don't itch...
