Isola di Ortigia - The island of Ortigia. We will explore the historic market, filled with vibrant scents and colors, the Temple of Apollo, the Diana Fountain, the Duomo or ‘Metropolitan Cathedral of the Nativity of the Holy Mary,’ and the Church of S. Lucia. We will then stroll through the narrow streets until we reach Fonte Aretusea, a body of water where the ancient “Ciperus Papirus” plant grows.

Here, we will marvel at the grand Palace of the Franciscan Friars, the Benedictine Friars’ Palace, the Cathedral of S.
