Catania - Pickup from Catania city center (Piazza Borsellino 13-15, Catania)
Craters Silvestri of Mount Etna - They are two pyroclastic cones formed north of Nicolosi, at an altitude of about 1,900 m, on the slopes of the Etna volcano. Their formation dates back to the eruption of 1892: this began on 9 July with the formation of a radial fracture, and therefore of a boutonniere of five craters, between 2025 and 1800 m, on the southern slope of the flanks of the volcano. It lasted 173 days and covered about 7 kilometres, until it touched the Monti Rossi on the eastern side, stopping just above Nicolosi, at an altitude of 970 m a.s.l.
Via Grotta Lunga - This cavity is probably an outflow gallery of the Monpeloso eruptive apparatus formed in 252-253 AD. It consists of a 55 m long gallery with a characteristic pointed arch vault.

Set against an often otherworldly backdrop, we’ll set out to discover and traverse Etna, a world-renowned testament to natural beauty and distinction, enlisted as a World Heritage Site.

Our journey will take us through: Expanses of Black Sand Deserts; old and new lava flows; historical craters and lava channels.

Awesome hike awesome views! - I’m so happy I booked this tour with Raffaella and Cristoforo! There are so many Mt. Etna tours but I wanted one that truly felt like a hike, I have been on “hike tours” before where it’s barely a light walk! This one we really go up to different peaks alongside the volcano/mountain and it’s so much fun going up! Raffaella has equipment to assist, as well as shoes if you do not have. The tour was wonderful, the views were amazing, as well as the storytelling! Raffaella and Cristoforo both have great auras and are really cool and kind! The last part where we go inside a lava cave just elevated the experience even more, that was very unique! Communication was also great! I would totally recommend this tour to anyone looking to hike Mt. Etna!
