Chefchaouen - Explore Chefchaouen:
After breakfast at your hotel, begin exploring the Medina. Chefchaouen is a unique city with whitewashed walls and blue doors and windows. Unlike many parts of Morocco, Chefchaouen was occupied by Spain, so there is significant Spanish influence in its architecture. Meet locals and stroll through the beautiful Medina. Volubilis - Chefchaouen to Volubilis, Meknes, Fes:
After breakfast at the hotel and exploring Chefchaouen, travel south via Ouazzan to Volubilis, a well-preserved Roman site dating back to 225 BC, with mosaics in excellent condition. Continue to Meknes, the Ismaili capital of Morocco, to see the impressive Bab Mansour gate, the granary, and the Sahrij Souani used for irrigation. Proceed via the highway to Fes. Overnight at Riad Dar Lys or similar. BB. -
Fes - Exploring Fes:
After breakfast at your riad, embark on a journey through the cultural capital of Morocco, exploring its alleys and streets. Start with the Royal Palace, the Jewish quarter, and the first Mellah in Morocco. Visit sites of cultural and historical interest, including the renowned Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the region, and the Tanneries. After lunch, visit the ceramic factory and enjoy a panoramic view of the Medina of Fes. In the afternoon, visit the new city for a drink. Overnight at Riad Dar Lys or similar. BB. -
Merzouga - Fes to Ifran, Azrou, Ziz Valley, Merzouga: 425km
After breakfast at your riad, depart Fes for Merzouga via Midlet and the Ziz Valley. Travel through Ifran, a picturesque mountain village known as “the Switzerland of Morocco,” and stop at the cedar forest. Experience the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains, passing through the Tiz Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorge, with views of the High Atlas plateau. As the scenery shifts to desert landscapes, reach Errachidia for lunch, stopping for panoramic views en route to Erfoud and Rissani. Enjoy a welcome glass of mint tea before checking into your riad. Erg Chebbi - Merzouga area and Camel trek:
After breakfast at the hotel, explore the area, visiting the Gnawa people, originally from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle. Nearby, visit the lake of Merzouga, home to various bird species. You may also visit the nomad wire house, where Berber handicrafts are more affordable than in big cities. In the afternoon, embark on a camel trek guided by an experienced camel man to explore the sand sea of Merzouga. Skoura - Merzouga to Todra Gorges, Dades Valley, Skoura:
Early in the morning, witness what might be the most beautiful sunrise of your life. Camel-trek back to your riad, appreciating the unique beauty of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Rissani, Tinghir, and Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the gorge, drive through the Dades Valley, admiring the majestic sand castles and “monkey toes” rock formations. Continue through the Dades Valley to Kalaat Mgouna, experiencing the Rose city and its Rose water cooperative. Overnight at Kasbah Ait Ben Damiette in Skoura. BDB. -
Ait Ben Haddou - Skoura to Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, Marrakech:
After breakfast at the hotel, continue to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest in Morocco, built by Et Hami El Glaoui, a Berber chieftain in the 18th century. The journey continues through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains, arriving at your accommodation in Marrakech. Overnight at Riad Merzouga. BB. -
Marrakech - Exploring Marrakech:
After breakfast at the riad, explore Marrakech, “the red city of Morocco.” Your guide will show you key historical and cultural sites, including the Saadian tombs, the Palaces of El Bahia and El Badi, and the Ben Youssef Coranique School. Lunch at a restaurant near the square, then visit the Majorelle Gardens, Menara, and the Koutoubia Tower in the afternoon. After dinner, enjoy a walk around the lively Square Jemaa El Fna, filled with magicians, storytellers, snake charmers, and food vendors. Overnight at Riad Merzouga. BB. -
Essaouira - Marrakech to Essaouira Day Trip:
After breakfast at your riad, drive to the windy city of Essaouira. Visit the Skala Fortress, the port, the souks, and see Thuya wood carvings by artisans. Stroll through the Medina’s alleys and view numerous handicrafts. Essaouira has a rich history, including Portuguese occupation, and is known for its blue doors and washed walls, earning it the title “Jewel of the Atlantic.” The visit includes the Mellah, the Jewish quarter, and the beach. Essaouira hosts the annual “Gnawa music” festival, attracting musical groups from Africa and beyond. The area is famous for argan trees, where goats climb to reach fruit. Return to Marrakech to your riad. -
