Embark on a journey back to the Arizona Wild West with this Historic Gold Mine Jeep Adventure. Feel the thrill as you enter the mine, tracing the same gold vein that prospector “Old Rackensack” pursued in 1880. Our Hard-Rock mine offers guests a safe opportunity to experience the meticulous methods used by Old-Timers to extract the elusive precious mineral that significantly shaped Arizona’s history.
On the way to the mine, explore the rugged landscape of the Upper Sonoran Desert with photo stops for flora and fauna, accompanied by educational narration about the archaeological Indian ruins in Rackensack Canyon. After an exciting mountainside ride to Summit Studio/Giftshop, enjoy complimentary refreshments before heading to the mine.
Relax and enjoy the journey with a Certified Off-road Desert Guide in our Custom Jeep Gladiator, designed for “Rain or Shine” tours and exclusively crafted for safety, comfort, and maximum visibility of the breathtaking vistas.

Fantastic team building adventure! - About 15 of us went on a team building outing to ride Jeeps, take in views, and enjoy an adventure. Our drivers and hosts kept us safe and entertained on a beautiful day while we enjoyed the views, did a little gift shopping, and ventured into the mine.

A fun adventure in the desert! - What a fun time we had on the Gold Mine Jeep Adventure. Our guide was friendly and very informative as we jeeped to the top of the mountain to see the old gold mines. The views were stunning and it was a truly unique experience.

Great day trip. Must do. - Amazing. One of a kind experience. I took my visiting niece and daughter plus my grand daughter. They loved it. Fantastic three hours with fam. Highly recommended.

Fun Family Experience - Our multigenerational family had a great time on this tour. Dave picked us up in the jeep and we had a great ride with lots of good information as we climbed our way up to Rackensack Canyon to meet Ginger and Charles. The views were breathtaking and got our adrenaline flowing. Our host Ginger and Charles were so welcoming when we reached their lovely mountain top home. We enjoyed their hospitality and beautiful views from every corner of their home. Then it was off to the gold mine tour. This is not your typical tour and we recommend it!

Not your usual experience! - Great experience for three generations in our family. From the tie we got picked up by our driver Dave, we enjoyed this trip. Dave gave us lots of good information and entertaining stories. Ginger and Charles were so welcoming and the best hosts. We absolutely loved the views, delicious snacks and warm setting they provided our family. The gold mine tour was something we had never done before and so interesting. If you are looking for a unique family experience this trip will not disappoint.

Perfect getaway from our Scottsdale resort - We had a great day visiting the town of Carefree and then taking this informative tour with breathtaking views, nonstop interesting stories and history, some fun stops and activities along the way, gracious friendly hosts living off the grid, and the mine visit with demonstration of what is was truly like working down there back in the prospecting days. Highly recommended!

US Naval Academy Class of ‘83 get-together - I live in Cave Creek and was planning a long weekend gathering for 12 Naval Academy classmates and spouses. Charles was very communicative and friendly. He arranged a tour that really exceeded our expectations! We picked up (22 folks) at the Cave Creek museum and proceeded to the Rackensack property. The entirety of Rackensack falls within the Tonto National Forest. Occupying three vehicles we were treated to spectacular views as we climbed to the summit of their property. We stopped along the way where flara and fauna were expertly by Charles and Rebel. They were not only informative but explained the plants and animals in a down to earth way that held everyone’s interest. Arriving at Rackensack HQ we were served refreshments and light snacks. We had the opportunity to take in more awesome views of the surrounding mountains and desert landscape, as well as try our hands at corn hole and calf roping! They also have a small gift shop with some beautiful hand-made jewelry and leather goods. We then made our way to an actual gold mine! The mine itself is impressive as were the numerous artifacts they showed us. We rode down the mountain taking in more fantastic views, returning to the museum for a private, docent-led tour. These folks put together a top notch tour. If you’re looking to experience Arizona’s beauty and learn about desert animals, flora and the state’s gold mining history you’ll enjoy this tour! Great experience!!

Best Tour Ever!!! - This is beyond an excellent tour! Charles and Miss Ginger were absolutely lovely hosts and surprised us with the BEST welcome reception once we reached the top of their gorgeous mountain property. Authentic people and our tour guide Rebel was so fun and knowledgeable. We learned so many interesting things and saw some of the BEST scenery I've ever witnessed. The mine was extremely interesting and I can't wait to take more family and friends on this amazing adventure.

EXCELLENT Proposal Venue! - This was an incredible experience from the moment I spoke to Charles on the phone! He was incredibly helpful and compassionate towards my request to propose to my girlfriend in the gold mine! Their team truly went above and beyond setting up a table, candles, flowers, and even a non-acloholic sparkling cider toast INSIDE the mine! I could not have asked for a better teammate to help me pull this off! She did say yes for those wondering! Not to mention, the jeep tour itself was breathtakingly beautiful! Our tour guide Rebel was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and full of energy! The stop at the top of the mountain at 4,400ft elevation in the gift shop was jaw dropping! We really enjoyed meeting Charles & Ginger, hearing their story, soaking in the panoramic views, cozy flames of the fire pit, and even got a roping lesson! Then the trek down into the gold mine was very intriguing! We really enjoyed all the history that Rebel shared with us...and of course my girlfriend found some gold (and a diamond) down there in the form of her engagement ring :) If you are looking to propose, there are other great spots on this tour you could propose too: like at gift shop on the back porch near the campfire overlooking the tonto national forest, or for a little more private place, on the path overlooking the lower entrance of the gold mine and tonto national forest to the north. Either way, I know Charles and Ginger will help you make it special and unforgettable for you, just like they did for us! Thank you guys!!
