- Potrerillos - Join us climbing one of the dozens of mountaintops in the Potrerillos region, Cerro Bayo. Following a zigzag trail, you will observe the abundance of endemic plants, such as jarilla and tomillo. We will tell you of the many uses of these and other plants as we pass by them.
Often, we see condors soaring above these mountains, and while this sighting is not guaranteed, you will have a very good chance to see these magnificent birds.
You will walk up to the top of Cerro Bayo (about 2 hours), all the while enjoying the views of the neighboring ridges and of lake Potrerillos below. Once on the top, while you are resting, we’ll prepare a traditional picada lunch of locally produced cold cuts and bread. For dessert, we offer alfajores or maicenas, traditional Argentinian sweets. Coffee or tea will also be available. During this time, you will have an opportunity to take pictures, walk around the peak and enjoy the spectacular views.
After a good rest, you will begin the descent. In about an hour and a half, you will reach the parking lot and we’ll take you back to the city.

Potrerillos Lake was formed due to the construction of a dam on the Mendoza river and acts as a critical water supply for the whole of Mendoza city. The lake is replenished by the water from melted glaciers and snow brought down from the lofty mountains through the river. Its turquoise water, reflecting the azure sky, adds to its beauty.
The stunning landscape is less than an hour’s drive from the city, enabling you to spend minimal time on travel and the majority of your time soaking in the natural surroundings.
