This initiative enriches the lives of tourists and positively impacts the local communities, as Mzu Lembeni, the owner of iMzu Tours, is committed to ‘sharing the love.’ Having grown up in a corrugated iron shack and starting his career as a teenager in a kitchen scullery, Mzu is dedicated to empowering the township communities he calls home. He creates local jobs and supports enthusiastic locals in advancing the townships beyond their apartheid history. Every iMzu Tour, whether on foot or by bicycle, highlights the vibrant lifestyle and pride within the townships of Langa and Khayelitsha, showcasing what is achievable. A true authentic learning experience - Great tour - you truly learn about the culture, history and community of the Langa township. The company takes the approach of allowing you to experience the community without feeling like a spectacle. Everyone we met was so friendly and I cannot recommend this tour enough if you want to experience and learn about South Africa.

iMzu Tours is AMAZING! Highly recommend. Go private if possible. - My husband and I had been referred to iMzu prior to going to SA and could not have been more pleased w the experience, his approach to sharing his culture and the incredible sites of the Cape Town landscape.
We had planned a township tour with him and were fortunate to beat the high season crowds to be able to extend into a 3 day experience after meeting him. Our second day was a full day trip to Cape of Good Hope with many stops along the way and a final day tour of 3 wine estates around Stellenbosch.
He is passionate about his business and keeping his clients safe, educated, and pleased; he grew up in the township and is similarly committed to supporting his community, helping the kids have a place to study/do homework, creating job opportunities for other hard working people from the township and to improving life for his family. We felt very encouraged that the cost of our tours would support these causes and perhaps be small step stones in the progress of a nation.

Guided tour Langa - Last October we went to Langa township with Mzu. It was a beautiful, but also an impressive experience. The tour was well organized and you get a good idea of life in a township. Highly recommended to visit it with Mzu!

A Most Moving Experience - Having just completed a tour of the Garden Route which ended with an extended stay in Cape Town, I was determined to try to visit a township and so was recommended IMzu Tours to the Langa township. Mzu himself picked myself and my wife up from our hotel and it was immediately evident that here was someone who exuded warmth, energy and determination in his quest to improve the lives of the people of the townships.
On entering Langa, Mzu first took us to the Community centre giving opportunities for employment and art based activities along with craft workshops where we were able to purchase some of the locally made pottery. We met and spoke to the people which was a real pleasure. We visited a nursery school, dancing and singing with the children who clearly enjoyed us being there.
Most poignant was walking through the maze of shack houses where living conditions were particularly bad.
This was a very moving experience and by encouraging the outside world to see what goes on here is the only way that things stand any chance of improving. Mzu and his company are making this possible and to anyone visiting Cape Town,I would strongly recommend that this is on their itinerary.
Thank you Mzu for giving us this opportunity to see the good work being carried out.

Great experience! - Such a great experience! Imzu is very nice and friendly, always willing to give us any kind of information. He collected us from our hotel this morning and accompanied us to the ferry terminal. We spent the morning in Robben Island, then he came again to the terminal to pick us up. He then accompanied US to Langa township. There a local tour guide, Khania, toured US in his township, showing US the Community Center and the life of the inhabitants of Langa. At last we didn't want tò get tò the hotel immediately so Imzu was so nice to drop us off in Boo-Kap where we spent some more time in autonomy.

Very instructive and joyfull - Great tour with Imzu. He picked us up at the hotel right on time. We where with the family of 4, got in his car and drove to Langa. There the local guide (kanya) took over and he told us passionately about the township he grew up in and still lives. Took us to local shops, cultural spots but also the shacks and told about life in the township (good and bad aspects).

Eye-opening experience - Wonderful experience in Cape Town! Really highlights people's life in townships... The guide knows everything about the subect, is really kind and makes everything he can to help his community. I recommend!

Personalized amazingly friendly highly recommended tours of Cape towns Langa - Imzu was absolutely amazing!
He collected myself and my teenage boys from home and took us to Lungu.
He was efficient and friendly and gave us so much information!his colleague,Khaya walked us around the township where we interacted wihh th all the locals including the children.
It was a fantastic tour and I would highly recommend them .
The community centre and interactions were fantastic.
What a great experience!!!

Amazing Experience! - Our guide Kanya was amazing! He was so knowledgeable and kind. He clearly knew a lot of people in the township and helped us to see real experiences of the people that live there. My group got to see amazing art, meet inspiring people, and open our eyes to new things. I would definitely recommend a tour to allow yourself to get to know the “real South Africa”.

Highly recommend! - It was refreshing walking around Langa with our amazing guide Khanya. He was so knowledgeable and candid in his sharing, which allowed us to catch a glimpse of life on the other side. We felt safe walking around with him as he knows so many people in the town of Langa! The arts centre was also very well run, and enables a platform for the locals to showcase their crafts.
We also enjoyed having a Braai meal together with our guide :) Highly recommend!
