An absolute gem of an experience - perfect for a winters day! - The most wonderful experience!! Winter time is wonderful on the train, pack blankets and snacks and you’ll be extra cosy. The staff were so divine and friendly, we got massages pn our trip too (pre book) and what a treat!! Loved every moment and can highly recommend. It’s a few hours each way so bring a good book or excellent company or both! Loved it

Lekker lekker lekker!!! - Had a really lovely train trip. Well organised, the staff are very attentive friendly and polite. The train is clean and looks well maintained.
Our coach host, John, is an absolute star. He ensured that we were all comfortable and happy. Such a pleasure to have been in his coach.

An unforgettable experience! - We were 6 friends who booked a family coupe to celebrate my birthday and loved every moment of it. Clear communication and information beforehand. Smooth check in procedure, where we collected a delicious breakfast pack that we pre-ordered. Onboard we were made to feel like family, by Rina and special shout out to the Fabulous Jenny and Kienan our waiter. The scenery is beautiful, especially going over Sir Lowry's Pass and such fun to wave at all the kids, waving back at you when you pass through settlements. On the way back, after lovely lunch and shopping at the Steampunk themed market, 2 of us treated ourselves to a massage I the SPA on board. Thank you to Michelle and her colleague for the pampering. We even met some old friends onboard and also made some new ones. This was truly a birthday celebration I won't forget.

A moment back in time - We had a wonderful experience on the train. We were forced to slow down and savour every moment. On a journey like that one looks at the world from a different perspective because usually one just rushes past places. We enjoyed the slow pace and the beautiful views. It makes a person thankful for what you have because you also see people living in harsh conditions along the way. The Elgin Market is wonderful, but the time spent there was a little short. The staff on the train was informative, friendly and helpful. We had a lovely time.

Where everyone became a family for the day - This was an amazing experience, everyone was so welcoming Rina was an amazing host and John was so attentive always checking up on us and ready to answer any questions we had about the train and the route 😀 the team also showed alot of emotion when we had to part ways at the end of the ride, it was like we became a day family even the other passengers we met on the train became like family everyone was in good spirit ❤️ we are definitely doing this trip again, thank you all and love you John. Amazing Experience - This was such an amazing trip. The staff on the train was really so friendly and helpful. The service was great. I can say that this is a great experience to step back in time to take this train to Elgin.

Great service - From where the planning starts to the end all the service was beyond met. The staff is friendly and helpful. They inform you as the trip go along. This made the trip just so much more special. We went as a family of 8 and oh boy did we had fun. Thank you so much ceres railway company for making a big bucket list item come true.

My Son of 9yrs old thoroughly enjoyed the experience and he loves Trains!!
Staff was very helpful and friendly!
Would definitely recommend this experience to friends & family.

Stunning and fun - Amazing! Organized and right on time. We had such fun on the trip - and Trevor our "coupe manager" - you were a star with your knowledge and sense of humor! Interesting route - with views you don't see from the car.
You want to see adults behave like excited kids - take this tour!
You can consider more staff for the food catering - but there is an option to have your order delivered to your seating area, which we used.

A day of adventure - This was a superb experience - very well-organised, safe and comfortable with lovely staff and service; fascinating trip through Cape Town which helped me orientate myself to the City; interesting to discover the route up the mountain and see the views; a chance to walk a bit around Elgin at the top.
