- Constantia Glen Winery - Following the Robben Island tour, the journey continues with a private tour of the Constantia Winelands, known as The Simon van der Stel wine tour. Traveling from Cape Town along the M3, passing Rhodes Memorial and the University of Cape Town (UCT), the tour proceeds on the M41 to the first wine stop at Constantia Glen wine estate. Situated high on a hill with stunning views of mountains and vineyards, Constantia Glen was originally part of Simon van der Stel’s farm. After various farming changes, it returned to wine production, with 70% Red and 30% White cultivars.
- Groot Constantia - The tour then moves to the historic Groot (meaning Big) Constantia wine estate. As the oldest wine-producing farm in South Africa since 1685, Groot Constantia continues to produce high-quality, award-winning wines despite changes in ownership. The farm produces 70% Red and 30% White cultivars. Guests can enjoy a delightful lunch at either Simon’s Restaurant or Jonkershuis Restaurant, both located on this beautiful wine estate.
- Klein Constantia - The next stop is Klein (meaning Little) Constantia wine estate. Located on the foothills of the Constantiaberg with breathtaking views across False Bay, Klein Constantia was also part of Simon van der Stel’s original farm in 1685. With its decomposed granite soil slopes and cool ocean breeze, Klein Constantia produces some of South Africa’s finest wines, with 30% Red and 70% White cultivars.
- Buitenverwachting - The Simon van der Stel wine tour concludes at Buitenverwachting (meaning Beyond expectation) wine estate. This estate was also part of the original Constantia farm founded by Simon van der Stel. Despite changes in ownership, the estate’s roots have been retraced, and the historical buildings have been restored. The farm produces 8% Red, 90% White, and 2% Rose cultivars. Afterward, guests will be returned to Cape Town and dropped off at their accommodation.
- Cape Town Central - Guests will be dropped off at any accommodation within Cape Town City Centre. Alternatively, they can provide their preferred drop-off location within the city centre.
