Victoria & Alfred Waterfront - victoria and Alfred is one of the most popular areas in Cape Town.The neighbourhood gives the stunning views of the ocean,as well as easy access to some of the city’s best beaches.This is where you will take the ferry to Robben island,which is 11km from the main land, 40-45 mins ferry drive to the island.

Robben Island Museum - Boarding the ferry closes 10 min before the time slot you chose. The ferries depart from the Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island in the V&A Waterfront. You will disembark on the island and take a short walk to buses that will transport you and a group of people to all the historical sites around the Island. On the way to the buses, you will pass buildings and a high wall built by prisoners during the 1960s. The prison tour will be conducted by a Robben Island Tour Guide. They are fully conversant and knowledgeable about the Island’s multi-layered 500-year-old history. The tour route includes the graveyard of people who died from leprosy, the Lime Quarry, Robert Sobukwe’s house, the Bluestone quarry, the army and navy bunkers and the Maximum Security Prison where thousands of South Africa’s freedom fighters were incarcerated for years. The tour culminates with a viewing of Nelson Mandela’s cell. Nelson Mandela spent 18 years of his 27 years in prison on Robben Island.

The Long March to Freedom - “The Long March to Freedom” which used to have its home in Pretoria. The newly Long March to Freedom has a new home in Cape Town in the Suburb of Century city approximately 10Km away from the City center. This is the Long March to Freedom, part of a bigger development of over 500 life-size bronze icons of South Africa’s struggle for freedom. All the figures together represent a timeline of South Africa’s 350-year journey to democracy. Beginning in 1652 with the establishment of the Dutch East India settlement in Cape Town and ending in 1994 with the country’s first democratic elections. It is the largest outdoor sculptural display of individuals in the world and uses public art to celebrate the country’s heritage while giving visitors the opportunity to learn about South African history in an unusual and entertaining way.
