- Victoria & Alfred Waterfront - The V&A Waterfront is one of Cape Town’s most popular spots. It offers stunning ocean views and easy access to some of the city’s best beaches. This is where you’ll catch the ferry to Robben Island, which is 11 km from the mainland, taking about 40-45 minutes by ferry.
- Robben Island Museum - Located in Table Bay, Robben Island is famous for its maximum-security prison where Nelson Mandela and other political prisoners were held during apartheid. Mandela spent 18 of his 27-year sentence here. Now a World Heritage site and museum, it offers daily tours. You’ll disembark at Murray’s Bay Harbour on the island’s east coast and take a short walk to buses that will tour you around the historical sites.
- Cape Town Central - We’ll pass through Cape Town as we head towards Simon’s Town. Cape Town is known for Table Mountain, Robben Island, Cape of Good Hope, seals, wine tasting, and romantic honeymoons.
- Groote Schuur Hospital - This hospital is where the first heart transplant took place in 1967, performed by Dr. Christian Barnard.
- St. James Beach - Located in Muizenberg, St. James Beach is famous for its colorful beach huts, which are used as changing rooms by sunbathers. The tour guide will share the history of these huts. The beach is also a popular surfing spot and home to a surfing community, swimming pools, and wooden colorful huts. We’ll stop here for 30 minutes before proceeding to Boulder’s Beach Penguin Colony.
- Kalk Bay Harbour - Kalk Bay is a small bay just south of St. James, known for its fishing harbor and Fish Hoek Beach.
- Boulders Beach Penguin Colony - Located in Simon’s Town, Boulder’s Beach is known for its warm waters from False Bay, making it ideal for swimming and sunbathing. The highlight is the African penguin colony. You’ll walk along the boardwalk to see the penguins in their natural habitat. The colony is home to about 3,000 African penguins. Simon’s Town, founded in 1679 by Simon van der Stel, is the second oldest town in the country and was occupied by the British in 1795.
- Cape of Good Hope - After visiting the penguins, we’ll head to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. A visit to Cape Town isn’t complete without a photo behind the Cape of Good Hope name board. The tour guide will share the history of the Bartolomeu Dias and Vasco Da Gama beacons. The Cape of Good Hope is the most southwestern point of the African continent, where the warm Agulhas and cold Benguela currents meet.
- Cape Point Nature Reserve - Visiting Cape Town without seeing the Cape of Good Hope is incomplete. The nature reserve offers photo opportunities, views of the Dias and Da Gama beacons, and a chance to discover the Cape’s flora and fauna. You may also encounter Cape chacma baboons, eland, mountain zebra, and ostrich. Most travelers opt for a short hike from the Cape of Good Hope to the Cape Point lighthouse. If you prefer not to hike, the guide will take you to the Flying Dutchman Funicular (fee not included, R95). Cape Point is the official meeting point of the two ocean currents. We’ll also have lunch at the Two Oceans Restaurant (optional).
- Noordhoek Farm Village - We’ll pass through this village, known for its coffee, handcrafted items, and food, all at your own cost.
- Chapman’s Peak Drive - This panoramic coastal drive is one of the most spectacular in the country, if not the world. It has 114 curves extending over 9 km, with an altitude of 593 meters above sea level, linking the Atlantic seaboard and southern suburbs. Be prepared for photographs with the best views of Hout Bay Harbor, Seal Island, and the Sentinel Mountain.
