History come to life - Professional and informative. Thankful that we were able to catch the first ferry over after rough weather. Our guides on the island were knowledgeable and engaging.

Definitely a trip to do - We really wanted to do this trip and it didn’t disappoint. Our tour guide was brilliant - really clear in delivery and detail, and also told some chatty people to respect those who paid to be there. Hearing from a former prisoner and how it was made it so much more personal. Would definitely recommend!

Robben Island - I traveled with friends on this tour to Robben Island in Cape Town. We were picked up on time by a professional driver that explained everything on what our tour would include. Everything went smoothly

Prison tour - This was an emotional tour. So first our guide on time for pick up polite professional made sure got on boat and waited for return. Bit choppy going out as raining if going suggest not sitting upstairs if not good sealegs. Arrived at prison island and put in coaches to ride to prison to save us getting wet. We had an ex prisoner brief us in life in prison he was very honest and it broke my heart that we could treat people this way. He was lively and no bitterness in him he had been doing the talks ever since he was released. We saw the small rooms where nelson mandela was kept 6 x 6 open to elements and a red bucket to do toiletries the grounds where they walk for exercise what they did for entertainment what brutality they went through i was emotional on leaving this was a great insight into this prison well done

Great trip - The tour guides are ex political prisoners- very moving to hear the lived experience. Only suggestion is that they could have presented a bit more - pictures etc of the prisoners, facts and figures eg how many and for how long etc you are not free to walk the island as there are protected wildlife. Good toilet and shop facilities. Great boat trip out- about 30 mins. Check if u r sailing as seas can be rough and result in cancellation but Viator will sort you out

Not worth the money. Just... - Not worth the money. Just get tickets on your own and get a cab or uber. Way overpriced! Wished I had researched it more. Driver was very nice and professional but not worth cost.

Don't use this! For Robben Island only book tickets at the Nelson Mandela Gateway Terminal - Robben Island trip itself is excellent but I recommend you don't book tickets anywhere other than the ticket office of the boat departure which is in the Nelson Mandela Gateway Terminal. I'm afraid our experience with this company was awful. We booked the experience online and on arrival at departure terminal our booking proved not to be as expected - a later sailing than we booked, though this was not explained until we were embarrassingly turned back at the boat. Also it was significantly more expensive than buying the tickets at the Nelson Mandela Gateway Terminal. I cancelled, got a refund and bought tickets direct from the ticket office saving significant cash.

TERRIBLE - This tour is literally ALWAYS CANCELLED!!! Its a big shame. If its not due to the weather, its due to mechanical problems. Always something!!!

Fraudulent description - The his company is a total ripoff. We were charged $191.26. The only thing this company did was pay for the ferry tickets which are about $30 each and provided transportation to and from our hotel which was $20 round trip. The entire tour is run by robben island and former prisoners. I am so angry about this. I tried to dispute the payment with PayPal but was denied. Just purchase your own tickets and get an Uber
