• Cape Town Central - The day begins with a pickup from your hotel or accommodation in Cape Town, followed by a scenic 2 to 3-hour drive to Aquila Game Reserve.
• Aquila Safari Reserve Directions - Upon arrival at Aquila Game Reserve, guests will be greeted with a welcome drink and directed to the restaurant for a full buffet breakfast (Halal and Vegetarian options available). After breakfast, embark on a 2 to 3-hour Shared Safari Game Drive led by an experienced game ranger who will share fascinating stories and facts about the reserve and its wildlife. After the safari, guests will return to the restaurant for a full buffet lunch (Halal and Vegetarian options available). Post-lunch, guests can relax on the terrace, lounge by the poolside, or enjoy a drink at the bar.
• Afrikaans Language Monument - During the journey, you will see the Afrikaans Language Monument, a tribute to the diverse origins of the Afrikaans language, which was used as an instrument by the apartheid government against people of color.
• Du Toitskloof Pass - Here, you will encounter the Du Toitskloof or Huguenot Tunnel, the largest curved structure in the country, spanning 4 kilometers. This area was a settlement for French refugees in the 1600s, including Francois du Toit.
• De Doorns - In this area, you will see the indigenous Khoi Koi people, stunning mountain viewpoints, table grapes, and Acacia trees that dominate the Hex River. During winter, snow-capped mountains, wine cellars, and the region’s export of approximately 17 million cartons of grapes annually can be observed.
• Fairview Wine and Cheese - Enjoy wine tasting with mountain scenery at Paarl Rock, see the splendid goat tower, and sample cheese, biltong, dry sausage, and other dairy products. The fine tasting rooms offer wines and cheeses at excellent prices. On the return journey to Cape Town, enjoy a complimentary cheese and wine tasting at Fairview Wine and Cheese estate, which features a vineyard and goat farm, wine and cheese tasting sessions, and a Mediterranean-style restaurant.
• Cape Town Central - The day concludes with a drive back to Cape Town and a drop-off at your hotel or accommodation.
