The best time to take a hot air balloon ride is indeed during the spring and summer months, from September to March, when the weather is generally clear and calm. This allows for optimal flying conditions and breathtaking views.

It’s also wise to avoid the rainy season, which typically starts in May in Cape Town. The rainy season can bring cloudy and turbulent weather, which can make hot air ballooning uncomfortable and potentially hazardous.
