Highlights
  • Camps Bay - Camps Bay is famous for its long stretch of white sand beach, framed by palm trees and crystal-clear waters. The area is also home to some of the best restaurants, cafes, and bars in Cape Town.
  • Chapman’s Peak Drive - Chapmans Peak Drive is one of the most scenic coastal drives in the world, and it’s not hard to see why. This 9-kilometer stretch of road winds along the Atlantic coast of South Africa, offering breathtaking views of the ocean, mountains, and surrounding landscape.

As you make your way along the drive, you’ll pass through a series of hairpin bends and steep cliffs, each one revealing a new and more stunning vista. Whether you’re driving yourself or taking a guided tour, you’ll be awestruck by the natural beauty of the area.

One of the highlights of Chapmans Peak Drive is the opportunity to stop at one of the many lookout points along the way. From here, you can take in panoramic views of Hout Bay, Noordhoek Beach, and the surrounding mountains. It’s the perfect spot to snap some unforgettable photos or simply sit back and soak up the scenery. Chapmans Peak Drive is a must-see destination for anyone visiting South Africa.

  • Boulders Beach Penguin Colony - This stunning beach, located just outside Cape Town, is home to a large colony of African penguins, and visitors come from all over the world to see these adorable creatures up close.

The penguins at Boulders Beach are a conservation success story. Once facing extinction, the colony has been carefully protected and nurtured, and today there are over 2,000 penguins living and breeding on the beach.

Visitors to Boulders Beach can get up close and personal with the penguins, watching them waddle along the beach, dive into the water, and play in the waves. The penguins are incredibly friendly and unafraid of humans, which means you can get within just a few feet of them and observe their fascinating behavior.

In addition to watching the penguins, visitors can also learn more about these amazing creatures at the nearby visitor center. Here you can discover more about the penguin’s life cycle, their unique adaptations, and the conservation efforts that have helped to protect them.

  • Cape Point Nature Reserve - The southern tip of the Cape Peninsula, just a short drive from Cape Town, and is one of the most popular destinations in South Africa.

At Cape Point Reserve, visitors can explore the rugged coastline, hike through the mountains, and discover the abundant flora and fauna that call this area home. From baboons to ostriches, Cape Point Reserve is teeming with wildlife, and you’re sure to encounter some fascinating creatures during your visit.

One of the highlights of Cape Point Reserve is the lighthouse, which sits atop a steep hill overlooking the ocean. Climbing to the top of the lighthouse is a must-do activity, offering panoramic views that stretch out over the coastline and beyond.

But there’s much more to Cape Point Reserve than just the lighthouse. There are numerous hiking trails that wind their way through the mountains and along the coast, offering breathtaking views and opportunities to see wildlife up close.

  • Imhoff Farm - Imhoff Farm also has a range of artisanal shops and markets, selling everything from handmade crafts to locally sourced produce. It’s the perfect spot to pick up unique souvenirs and gifts to take home with you.

Treat yourself to an experience with an extra ordinary tour guide. - I told Geoff Heald, our tour guide, that he is a "Karmic Dividend". That is an experience you have earned because of the good deeds you have done in your life. Geoff's expansive knowledge of Cape Town, the history of South Africa and the current political dynamics imbues him with the qualities of an Oracle.

We journeyed along the coast from Capetown to the Cape of Good Hope in a comfortable van for our group of 6, catching the bay views in the early morning light. Our day was perfect.
