First time at Cape Town do this Private Tour - There is no better way to start your holiday in Cape Town than with "Wanderer". We discussed our wishes with the office (Aziza) in advance by email and were recommended this tour. If you are visiting Cape Town for the first time and want to see as much as possible, this is a good choice. Our guide (Nwabisa) picked us up at the hotel at the agreed time and we took a short walk along the Seal Island Hout Bay (we skipped the boat trip as we weren't sure if there would be enough tourists for a boat trip that day), then along Chapmans Peak Drive to the penguin colony at Boulders Beach, up to the Old Cape Point Lighthouse with the Cape Point Funicular and finally to the Cape of Good Hope. We also did a chocolate and wine pairing at Groot Constantia, which was a great little highlight. Throughout the tour, which lasted about 7 hours, Nwabisa was on hand to answer all our questions, take photos and tell us a lot about the city and country of South Africa. Thank you so much for this great day and for booking the restaurant you recommended to round off a great day.

What a team! They will enhance your visit to South Africa! - We have just returned from a wonderful 12 day through South Africa, landing in Johannesburg and on to Cape Town via Stellenbosch. We were looked after so well from start to finish by Che, Faizel, Nwabisa and the whole team. From organising our transfers to airports, hotels, restaurants and rugby stadia to informative, relaxed tours through each of the regions. They couldn’t do enough for us. We felt so well looked after, particularly by Faizel, as he saw us for most days over our final week! He is so professional, a great source of local knowledge, warm and cheerful. We felt lucky to have him accompanying us through Stellenbosch and Cape Town. To be fair to the company, each member of staff we met, and the local guides they hooked us up with in the townships, was top class! This company will go above and beyond to make your stay in SA a memorable one!

Amazing Personalized Day Trip - I cannot compliment Che and Faizel enough for the private all day tour they helped us plan and guided us on! Che helped us put together a full day of must-see stops on and off the beaten path. We were thrilled to be able to incorporate sight seeing that wasn’t available on some of the larger group tours out there. Che was super responsive in the planning process. Our tour guide for the day, Faizel, was prompt, incredibly professional, and very informative. We felt well taken care of with Faizel. At each stop, he helped us out of the car, walked us to where we needed to be, identified where he was going to park and wait for us, and where to meet him when we were done with each stop. Throughout the day, we revised our itinerary based on his suggestions and things that we were loving and wanted to stay longer at. He provided so much South African and personal history throughout our drives that absolutely enhanced our experience.

An Adventure to Treasure - It was during a zoom call in April of 2020 that my husband surprised me with a trip to South Africa, planned for September, for my 65th birthday. The main destination was Thula Thula Game Reserve, (a dream of mine after reading the books), with plans to arrive in Cape Town and spend a few days making the time adjustment. No one could have predicted our trip would be delayed by 3 years due to COVID... I am not a planner....but my daughter is! In Feb. 2023 we met a family from South Africa. They insisted we must spend more than a few days in Cape Town and spent hours talking with us about their country. They also stressed we should have a driver! Well, my daughter ran with their advice and found Che Watson, Wanderer Tours and Travel. Che prepared an incredible 6-night, 7-day, all inclusive itinerary, (excluding food and alcohol!), for us that was beyond our wildest dreams or expectations! Che even designed a personal website: “Susi Sorts Out Her Mom”, which detailed our accommodations, cost, daily itinerary (which included narratives and photos of all our planned destinations), maps, and general information about South Africa such as currency, food and drink advice, climate and weather, clothing and dress recommendations and internet. Our itinerary included a driver/tour guide and transport to and from the airport. After about 24 hours of travel we landed in Cape Town, and true to his word, Che and Faizel were waiting when we walked out of baggage claim, holding a sign with our names on it. I knew immediately we were in great hands! Che and Faizel drove us to the Radisson Red and made sure we were checked in and settled. The Radisson Red was the perfect location, but more importantly, the staff there were amazing making us feel welcome and taking great care of us the entire time! With our travel we actually had 5 full days in Cape Town, 4 of them with full itineraries planned with Faizel! Faizel was our guide for the week and there are not enough accolades to describe him! He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, flexible, accommodating, and attentive, not to mention a great driver! Although I had read extensively about the areas we were going to visit, Faizel shared more information and was a better source than anything I had read. His knowledge of the history and intricacies of the areas was impressive to say the least! Faizel was also great company! We really enjoyed getting to know him a bit. He was present but always unobtrusive and had to be coaxed into joining us for a meal! He was always early and never rushed, no matter how long our day went! We had never hired a private driver before and although our week with Wanderer was incredibly reasonable, Faizel was truly a luxury of comfort! He always had water for us and frequently checked to see if we needed/wanted to stop. We were able to relax, not having to figure out how to get somewhere, to be able to take things in the car with us “just in case” without having to cart them everywhere we went. Our tours of the Cape Town area and peninsula involved a fair amount of driving, but Faizel managed to take different routes to and from each destination so we were treated to incredible scenery along the way every day! The mountainous area is breathtaking and the hundreds of photos we took simply serve to spark our memories! Our days were so full that I kept a journal and I am very happy I did!! A FEW of the highlights of our week included Seal Island, Chapman’s Peak, Cape of Good Hope, Boulders Penguin Colony, Hermanus Whale Cruise and Walk, lunch at Bientang’s Cave, the Cheetah Outreach, and of course, Table Mountain! We also managed to get a few wineries in!! Unfortunately, Mother Nature did not read our itinerary and our first day was cloudy, cool and a bit drizzly. Our plans to start our Cape Town journey with a trip up Table Mountain did not make sense – but no worries, Faizel and Che suggested a city tour instead, promising that whenever the mountain cleared we would get there! Faizel watched the weather daily, even hourly, ready to adjust our plans at any time.....well, Mother Nature waited until our last day! Faizel and Che stayed in touch and Faizel could see from where we were in wine country that the mountain had cleared!! We decided to forego our last winery and head for the mountain! Che called to let us know the lines were quite long, not surprising given the sudden change in weather, and asked if we wanted to upgrade our tickets to the fast lane – which of course we did! Che forwarded the tickets to my phone so when Faizel dropped us at the entrance we were ready to go! Table Mountain was truly beyond our wildest expectations! There are simply no words to describe it! Faizel and Che ended our week with dinner at Camps Bay watching the sun set over the ocean. It was a perfect ending to a perfect week! Faizel dropped us at the airport the next morning to continue on to Thula Thula. It was sad to say good-bye, though he will always hold a special place in our heart and I am hoping to stay in touch. Faizel and Che, Wanderer Tours, turned our “stop” in Cape Town to an adventure we will treasure the rest of our lives. There are no words to thank them properly!

Loved it!! Highly recommend! - My family and I loved the Cape Peninsula Tour! It allows you to see so much in a day, even with a limited time in Cape Town. The whole drive is gorgeous, but the Cape of Good Hope and Chapman’s Peak are spectacular. We also stopped at a lovely place for lunch. Che is a gem—smart, personable, and a ton of fun! He’s an awesome guide but also gave us space and time to enjoy each stop as a family. He went above and beyond to rearrange our route based on the weather, so we could have the best experience possible. We ended up booking with Wanderer again for last minute transportation to Franschhoek. You can’t beat traveling in their Mercedes SUV. Highly recommend!

Wandere Tours and Travel: the only way to go - Our trip to Cape Town was originally discussed in 2019, pre Pandemic. Che Watson's communication via email and WhatsApp was extraordinary then, and when we rebooked in 2022 the attention to detail was amazing. We were a party of 3 adults, and Che organised a 6 night 5 day all inclusive experience that was out of this world. Absolutely fabulous, in every way. Che's insight, planning and communication are second to none, and what he came up with was not only perfectly planned, but incredibly reasonably priced. At all times we knew exactly where we were going, what we would be doing, and the time lines involved. Our costs for the week were completely covered by the inits payment; our only extras were meals and personal spending. Our guide for the week, Faizal, made absolutely sure that our every need was met, and made every effort to show us extra little things that elevated our memories. Being told that we were the most important people in his life for that week was very special. Faizal ensured all requests were met, and he was completely professional in every way. Essentially, we did 4 day tours, (with one free day where we easily occupied ourselves in the V and A waterfront) with wonderful accomodation arranged at the Radisson Red Hotel (perfect location at the V and A, and funkily fabulous!) for 6 nights, including breakfast. Our Mercedes E class was wonderfully comfortable and the attention of our own Private Guide for the entire time made us feel special and safe. 1. Che collected us at the airport mid afternoon, and had us organised for an amazing Seafood restaurant that evening. A sunset at Camps Bay was a treat. 2. Cape Town City tour: we started out with wonderful views from the top of Table Mountain, followed by private guides at Bo Kaap, the District 6 Museum, and the Castle of Good Hope, who enlightened us with wonderful personal insights. We passed by many landmarks and even had time for a shopping experience at the Green Street Market, which was great. 3. Cape Point tour : We saw seals and penguins, and had a great seafood lunch in Simons Town. After arranging personal requests to see Newlands Cricket ground, and time at Kirstenbosch gardens, we tasted great wines at Groot Constantia winery. Then the bucket list of seeing the Cape of Good Hope was stunning: Faizal spent a huge day driving. 4. The Langa Township tour with a former resident, and Robben Island tour with a former political prisoner, were sobering, but "must do" experiences. They rounded out everything we had learned at Bo Kaap and the District 6 museum. A suggested evening meal at a fascinating Indian restaurant we would never have found by ourselves was an absolute treat. 5. Hermanus and Stellenbosch day: whales and wine: what a great way to end our time in this beautiful region. Che and Faizal ensured we were safe, cared for, treated with amazing courtesy and care, and organised everything efficiently, pleasantly and professionally. No request was too difficult, the attention to detail and smooth flowing itinerary each day made our holiday a memory of a lifetime. We cannot recommend Wanderers Tours and Travel highly enough, and are already planning a return. Wanderers Tours and Travel are the one and only company to consider for a safe, comprehensive and fun filled time in this beautiful city.

A day in a fairytale place called Cape Point - Although the weather was not the best, the tour operator Faizel made my day. He was helpful and patient in showing me Cape Point and also the coast, including the African penguins reserve and Simon's Town. Faizel also knows Cape Town very well, giving me a lot of interesting info about this wonderful city. I thank the whole Wanderer Tours team very much for their availability and precision in the details of this tour. I hope one day to return to Cape Town.

Don't Hesitate, Choose Wanderer! - Don't hesitate; book Wanderer Immediately! This was our first trip to Cape Town, and certainly not our last. Che', along with his trusted professional team (Rafeeq and Faizel) made sure our time in the 'Mother City' would be rewarding, adventurous, historic and mostly memorable. From our initial meeting Che' made me and my wife feel like we were part of a foreign delegation, from arrangements to changes to surprises, too, along the way. Rafeeq and Faizel are both knowledgeable and educational in all things Cape Town...I mean...we hit all the spots, while being informed in the who, what, where, when, why and hows. A big highlight of our trip was an impromptu visit to a high school in the Langa Township, where I actually taught a brief classroom lesson..."who does that?!" Wanderer does! We've taken several international trips, but the personal, private tour aspect with Wanderer made for such a more fulfilling experience. Looking for a good drink spot - they got you; left a shopping bag in the Mercedes - they have it; early morning tour set up - they're outside waiting. From your initial consultation to your last day goodbyes, you will know you chose the right company.
