A Unique Window into the Reality of Township Life - This tour was a highlight of our visit to Cape Town. It offers a window into what life is really like for the millions who live in the townships (about 60% of Cape Town's 5 million residents). Stuart, the company's owner, picked us up at a mutually agreed location and drove us out to Langa. During the drive, he gave us helpful context on the history of Cape Town, how the townships arose and changes since the end of apartheid. Once we arrived in Langa, we were greeted by Namhla, one of his guides and a Langa native. She took the lead for the rest of the township visit. Namhla, 28, was fabulous - highly knowledgeable, friendly and open to any and all questions. We sampled local fare for lunch at Jordan's, visited the local history museum, toured various residential sections, learned about the local economy and popped into a performing arts center for youth. Then Stuart, who remained with us the entire afternoon, drove us back to the city center. We felt safe the whole time, but as a Westerner, Langa - the oldest and probably safest township - is not a place you would want to visit without a guide. This is a unique experience, highly recommend.

An amazing insight into the township way of life - We used Sivewe Tours for our trip and our guide Don was great! We felt safe at all times and enjoyed listening to his stories as we wandered around (maybe a little less time at the beginning in the museum would have been appreciated). We had a wonderful insight into the way of life, found everyone so welcoming and learnt so much. Highly recommended.

Life changing! - Don was life changing! He really not only showed us around, but he made us feel the heart of the community. It was so inspiring, insightful and information in a way that you can only get from a local. The best thing we did in cape town and such an important part of the culture! Thank you so much Don!

Amazing Experience - We went on a tour of Langa Township with Nelisa (Nela) and can't recommend it enough! His knowledge came straight from the heart as this is his home town and we learned and saw so much. It is definitely worth taking the time to do this and then to go back home and share your knowledge. Laura & Chris

Walking with Nela through Langa - We had a wonderful walking tour with our guide Nelisa "Nela" Tema who gave us an excellent insight into the creation, development and present situation of the township. We got the impression that this township were a very well managed place. People were all friendly and Nela knew many of them we passed.

Experiencing Langa - I'm proudly South African. We visited the Mother City and was astounded by our tour guide Stuart who made this trip memorable. Discovering the heart of Cape town and it's friendly locals, we were welcomed by heart felt, warm locals who made us feel desirable. Stuart has so much information, knowledge and is a very good story teller. He answered all questions necessary to the tour and even managed to show us the church people go to on Sunday. We experienced the vibrant Langa and it's community where the Xhosa kids play soccer. There are also community projects.
