Great Tour, Better Host - Danson was an excellent guide; both engaging and thoroughly knowledgeable. Conversational both about Cape Town and South Africa in general, but also the Cape of Good Hope, the history, and even the penguins (being a major in Marine Biology he was able to give detailed explanations rather than 'basic' knowledge). This told when we constantly had other tourists coming and asking him questions which he gratiusly answered. Danson was also kind enough to step away during lunch, even though we were more than happy to sit together and have a chat, and he managed the balance between talk, knowledge, and quiet amazingly well throughout a busy, but wonderful day. Would love to return and would happily do it all again.

#1 Cape Tour - This is the #1 tourist activity to do in the Cape, and this tailored day-trip, in private luxury and safety, is the definitive way to do it. Book with Jean at Cape Archives Tours and you don’t just get the trip, you get VIP treatment and the benefit of Jean’s encyclopaedic knowledge of local sights, wildlife, history, sociology, geology, flora, fauna and food. You’ll experience the wonders of the Cape’s natural beauty, and you’ll definitely have close encounters with the penguins; most likely ostriches, and potentially zebras, baboons, seals, and other native Cape animals too. You’ll stand at the most southwesterly tip of Africa in the legendary Cape of Good Hope, along with a vast array of other photographic opportunities along the way. Don’t forget your camera. More importantly, if you choose this comprehensive, valuable tour you’ll never forget the day.

Exceptional Private Tour of Capetown - This private tour is THE way to experience all that is Capetown and the surrounding areas. From the beautiful terrain to the gorgeous sea landscape and wildlife, this tour is excellent. Barnabas served as our tour guide and did an exceptional job providing commentary throughout the day. He was the most professional and fun tour guide.

Wonderful private tour - My husband and I took this tour in early December and loved every minute - you really do get to see so much in one day. Avril was a wonderful guide for us - friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. She took us to a lovely restaurant for lunch that we maybe wouldn't have found otherwise and told us stories/information whilst on the way to our next destination. We didn't feel rushed anywhere - it was tough getting Bo Kaap in right at the end due to traffic on the day but she went out of her way to take us. Couldn't recommend enough. You get what you pay for and this is a quality private tour. Thank you Avril!

Fantastic Tour and Experience - Although the weather was not the greatest (cold and rainy) we had a FANTASTIC experience. Max, our guide, was so kind, pleasant and had such a positive outlook- just oove him! Due to issues with the National Parks website, I would recommend NOT paying for the tickets to Boulder’s Beach & Cape of Good Hope. There truly is no benefit to booking this in advance- our tickets were never uploaded and we had to pay twice for the tickets (no fault of the tour operator).

Customized tour in a comfortable BMW - We had an amazing experience with this private tour and highly recommend it! There are many options for the penguin tour, but most involve large buses, meaning you have to wait for other passengers during bathroom breaks, photos, etc. With this private tour, we could fully customize our itinerary based on our preferences, which made the day so much more enjoyable. A wonderful surprise was being upgraded from a standard sedan to a brand-new BMW—such a great send-off! One of my personal must-do’s was trying different fish and chips, so we stopped at Fish on the Rocks (yes, for breakfast!). We then continued to Noordhoek Farm Village, where we enjoyed delicious meat pies and coffee at a charming deli. Our driver, Xochitle, was absolutely fantastic—friendly, courteous, and always smiling. She not only took amazing pictures and videos of us but also suggested great stops along the route. One highlight was visiting a small, lesser-known penguin beach before heading to the main one, which gave us an up-close experience with the penguins. Another perk was receiving a link before the tour to pre-purchase our park passes, allowing us to skip the long entrance lines. Fish Hoek Beach was a lovely stop—we relaxed there for an hour and enjoyed some bunny chow. We also visited the vibrant, colorful houses at Muizenberg Beach before ending the day with an authentic braai at Ahmed’s Tikki House in the beautiful Bo-Kaap neighborhood. It was our favorite day in Cape Town, and Xochitle made it even more special. If you're looking for a personalized, hassle-free experience, this private tour is the way to go!

AVOID! do not book - I booked this trip as part of our once in a lifetime honeymoon. The trip started late with the driver claiming traffic was bad. We then had to change the route. This was disappointing but we were still excited for our day. At lunchtime, we arrived at a restaurant who were not expecting us. After several phone calls from our guide to the restaurant we were provided with the menu (as shown on the website). We ordered food and were looking forward to our meal. After lunch we began the long drive to Cape Point. We were able to see the lighthouse and cape of good hope but both began feeling extremely unwell. I was extremely dizzy, nauseous and felt horrendously ill. The only food my husband and I had eaten the same was from this restaurant and we had not eaten anything else that day. As the day progressed, both of us began to feel extremely ill. Due to how extremely unwell we were we had to miss out on seeing six stop points and five drive by locations. We then were stuck in bed for three days with extreme sickness and diarrhoea every ten minutes. When we spoke to the tour operator they claimed we had seen the main points and gave us a £28 refund- £14 per meal. Having looked on the website for the restaurant there is no three course meal that costs as little at £14. This refund felt insulting considering how ill we were and how our entire trip to Cape Town and our honeymoon had been ruined. We were so disappointed to miss out on so many key stops such as Muizenberg Beach, Camps bay and Bo-kaap. It was even more disappointed to be told we had done the main points- the points we had to pay additional money for. It was even more frustrating that we would have seen these points if the route hadn’t been changed and the driver late. We were then told that we could only receive a refund if we pay to visit a hospital. This would have cost us more in travel insurance expenses than the cost of the trip. We highly regret booking this trip and advise EVERYONE to AVOID IT.
