A great day at the bottom of Africa - I’m a geography nerd so going to the southernmost point in Africa and seeing where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet was amazing. Our guide Kevin was friendly, personable and knowledgeable and we loved spending the day with him.

The sublime Cape Agulhas - Our 11 hours tour for two persons from Cape Town to Cape Agulhas and back with Cape Archive Tours was, briefly expressed, perfect. The route to Cape Agulhas by the sea and back through country side gave a chance to admire the nature and the wild life in the fullest. As we wished to skip the wine tasting and the lighthouse in Cape Agulhas and visited the penguin colony only shortly we had a pleasant amount of time for a coffee break in a charming village of Elim, a lunch in Hermanus and experience the waves and the winds of two seas of the southernmost tip of African continent, sublime Cape Agulhas. Our driver and guide, Danson, is a professional. A trustworthy driver, a knowleadgable guide - also concerning variety of topics like economy, social issues or geology (!) in SA - and a nice person to spend a day with, though naturally we had our own time when convenient. Without such company as his a lenghty tour might be a less exhilarating experience. I wholeheartedly recommend the tour provided by Cape Archive Tours and smoothly orchestrated by Danson.

Just do it! - I had a great time and Peter was an amazing guide. I wrote a better review but it wasn’t approved because the guidelines say you cannot post a review with pictures that are duplicates of another, so I’m attempting to give a good review of this tour that meets TA’s standards :/ take advantage of this tour.

Southernmost Point - Why Not?! - It may seem trivial to see the southernmost point of a continent, but I strongly advise you to take advantage of this trip if you’re staying in Cape Town. It is an amazing way to see the coastline of the country, from its rocky shores and its majestic mountains. In addition to possibly seeing whales and penguins, you may get lucky and see some Dassie and Baboon! The wine tasting is a lovely experience as well, and the cherry on top of the whole experience is a fantastic guide. Peter was the best guide we’ve ever had in our South African travels, so you’re in the best of hands if you get him for a guide.

Whats makes beautiful scenery even better? Penguins, good food, great wine and an awesome Guide! - The 2-1 made this a very personal experience. Our guide Kelvin was very knowledgeable on the history of all the places we saw along the drive. In Betty’s Bay we stopped at the Stony Point Nature Reserve and got to see African Penguins for the first time. We are not big wine drinkers and our experience at Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estates exceeded our expectations. Our wine ambassador Valentin did a great job of presenting wines to suit our tastes. We walked away with three bottles!!! Our lunch at the “Burgundy” restaurant in Hermanus was delicious. The scenery was extraordinary, from the stone covered mountains to the rocky coastline with its tropical coloured bays. It was very cool to find ourselves standing in the most southern point of Africa, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. This excursion is a “must do” if you find yourself in Cape Town South Africa.

Great guide & great views - We had such a lovely experience on our private tour to Cape Agulhas. Our guide was friendly, easy to talk to, and informative. We started with a scenic drive east, stopping for coffee and photos occasionally, in addition to Betty’s Bay to see the Stony Point penguin colony. We also stopped at an adorable winery for a quick tasting before continuing on to Hermanus, where we had a few hours to eat lunch and shop before continuing our journey to the southern tip of Africa. Once there, we took the iconic photos and climbed the lighthouse before heading back to Cape Town. We left at 7 am and returned around 6:30 pm. The drives were quite long but we made lovely conversation throughout the day and it all seemed to fly by (plus the views were stunning the entire time). We would highly recommend this experience to others!

Ask for Rodney - We made a last-minute booking for this tour and Rodney was our tour guide and driver. We were extremely pleased with his service. We had a wonderful time and visited many great places. This tour involves a long drive, but it did not feel that way because Rodney engaged in conversation with us the entire time and kept us entertained. I highly recommend requesting Rodney as your tour guide if you decide to take this tour. You will not be disappointed.

A great way to spend a day seeing the southern tip of Africa! - This was a great day! Even though the weather was challenging (rainy and windy), our wonderful guide Kevin changed the order of things on the itinerary to make sure we got to see everything. The Penguins were awesome, Cape Agulhas was beautiful (windy and cold) with the ocean churned up, and the winery he chose for us was beautiful with very good wines! Kevin was knowledgeable, interesting, and a very safe driver. Highly recommend this tour!
