Highlights
  • Camps Bay - Nestled between Clifton and Llandudno beaches, and framed by the majestic Twelve Apostles mountain range and the sparkling Atlantic Ocean, Camps Bay is one of Cape Town’s most stunning suburbs. The breathtaking scenery, immaculate white sands, and vibrant blue waters make it clear why Camps Bay Beach has earned Blue Flag Beach status. Despite being one of the few Cape Town beaches on the Western seaboard exposed to the South East Wind, Camps Bay beach remains a bustling hotspot for families, stylish singles, and tourists alike. Camps Bay is also one of the most sought-after suburbs for luxury accommodation in Cape Town, with homes easily fetching millions. Many visitors return time and again to bask in the sun and enjoy the lively pavement culture.
  • Chapman’s Peak Drive - Stretching between Noordhoek and Hout Bay on the Atlantic Coast at the southwestern tip of South Africa, Chapman’s Peak Drive, affectionately known as “Chappies,” is one of the world’s most spectacular marine drives. Constructed between 1915 and 1922, this 11 km route features 114 curves and peaks at 166 meters above sea level. The drive offers numerous picnic spots with excellent facilities and countless viewpoints. Each year, Southern Right Whales visit the Cape Point Route coastline, and Chapman’s Peak is a prime location to observe these gentle giants from an elevated perspective.
  • Boulders Beach Penguin Colony - Visit Boulders Beach, home to a growing colony of vulnerable African Penguins, also known as Jackass Penguins due to their distinctive donkey-like braying. These are the only penguins found on the African continent, with colonies stretching from southern Namibia around the southern African coasts. The penguins first arrived in False Bay in 1983, and the colony quickly grew due to an abundance of food. However, commercial fishing and marine pollution have since taken a toll. In 1910, there were an estimated one-and-a-half million penguins, but by 1982, only two breeding pairs remained. Thanks to incredible conservation efforts, the Boulders Colony has grown to over 3,500 birds in recent years. Visitors can walk among the penguins or use the wooden walkways to view them in their natural habitat up close.
  • Simon’s Town - Located 40 km outside the city, Simon’s Town is a charming village known for its Victorian architecture, Naval Base, and the statue of Just Nuisance, a dog formally enrolled in the Royal Navy as an Able Seaman. The town boasts an attractive waterfront with small boutiques selling clothing, art, and souvenirs, as well as a variety of excellent restaurants within walking and driving distance. Simon’s Town is also home to the Naval Museum, Toy Museum, and Simon’s Town Cultural Museum. The Scratch Patch, where visitors can search for beautiful gemstones, is another popular attraction. As the seat of the South African Navy, Simon’s Town has a delightful coastal atmosphere and a rich history.
  • Constantia - Enjoy wine tasting at Groot Constantia.
  • Cape Point - Often mistakenly cited as the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans (which actually meet at Cape Agulhas), Cape Point features rugged rocks and sheer cliffs towering over 200 meters above the sea, creating a stunning backdrop for the park’s rich biodiversity. Cape Point is part of the southern section of Table Mountain National Park and is home to fynbos, the smallest but richest of the world’s six floral kingdoms. Visitors can take a funicular or walk from the parking lot to the old lighthouse. The Cape Point Restaurant offers light meals with large sea-facing windows that provide a picturesque view reminiscent of Mediterranean summers. A hike from Cape Point to the Cape of Good Hope, or vice versa, takes about 35 to 45 minutes each way.
  • Bo-kaap - Capture photos of the colorful houses and explore the galleries in this vibrant area.

Great Tour with Albert - Wonderful tour with Albert. He was punctual, friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable. He gave explanations about all the places we visited and allowed enough time and space to explore. I did a private tour with him as a solo traveller and he made me feel at ease and comfortable.
