Prepare to see whale sharks up close! While swimming alongside them is an unforgettable thrill, it cannot be guaranteed. Your safety and the well-being of the whale sharks are our top priorities, so swimming will only be permitted when conditions are perfect. Even if the experience is limited to viewing from the boat, the sight remains breathtaking and profoundly memorable.

- The total duration of this tour can vary, typically influenced by factors beyond our control. On average, the boat activity lasts about 5 hours. However, this duration may extend due to weather conditions, the location of the whale sharks, and the number of swimming opportunities. Additionally, the transfer time from your hotel to our pier varies based on your location and current traffic conditions. Including transfers, expect the entire tour to last between 7 and 12 hours

Wonderful experience with Santiago - The whale shark experience was incredible! From Playa del Carmen ( Hotel Xcaret) it was a long drive and then a long boat ride ( over 1 hr each) to get to the Whale sharks. Santiago was our guide and we were glad he was. He made the experience more fun by being more knowledgeable and helpful for anything we needed. The snorkeling was fun and then right after to a beach area near the snorkeling to eat lunch. Even though it’s only a few minutes each jump into the water with the whale sharks it feels like just enough time. The only thing I wish they had was fresh water showers for when you get back to the dock. So you can change and rinse off the salt water before another 1.5 hr drive back to the hotel.

Best tour ever! - What an incredible experience from start to end. Matthew our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to be with for the day. The whale shark tour did not disappoint! During the entire swim our group was able to see at least 10 to 15 whale sharks. The captains skills and our safety and experience of the day was second to none ! Absolutely must get the photos and videos of the day… Matthew’s attention to detail in capturing our families experience exceeded our expectations The ceviche was divine! Just be aware the hour and half boat ride there and back can be a little rough especially for non sea worthy folks. An absolute MUST DO!!

WhaleShark encounter, a lifetime experience - The tour was awesome, we have seen many whalesharks , and were able to swim in pairs. I am extremely satisfied. Xenia is a perfect guide, and Luis and Leo were professional boat crew.

We are fortunate to be able to have these experiences. - We have been wanting to have this experience for some years now, we usually go on diving holidays and the whale shark used to come out very often and this was the opportunity... it was incredible, unique... the truth is that we are lucky to be able to experience it thanks to Xenia (guide), Iván and Jesús (boat) and no less important Alberto (driver), Thank you, thank you for taking care of us and our companions at all times, without a doubt any experience changes a lot depending on the people who organize it.
We arrived at the area after a storm that created a curtain of water. INCREDIBLE..🌧️, come on..full experience, just say THANK YOU, just say..let's take care of this blue planet.

The best tour guide and experience - Had an amazing experience with a whale shark excursion from Ocean Tours in Cancun. Our tour guide Hamlet Balam Balam was one of the best tour guides I have experienced. He was knowledgeable, funny, and focused on our safety and experience. This was an extraordinary tour. Once in a lifetime experience. If you go on this ask for Hamlet, he is amazing.

Saw Several Whale sharks.... - Saw Several Whale sharks. Our guide was very professional and friendly and even took pictures for us with my own camera. We also enjoyed snorkeling and lunch very much.

Incredible experience and highly recommended. Except for the food they put on board the ship - The whale shark activity is a wonderful and highly recommended experience. My husband, my daughter and I went. I decided not to go in the water to swim with the shark or snorkel because we did another snorkeling activity the day before and I had a sore neck that was bothering me, but I still went on the excursion to see my family enjoying themselves. On one hand, I heard a humorous comment from the guide, the boat captain, and the other guide, which made me feel very bad because I had decided not to jump into the water. Anyway... I'm not going to go into this... But there is something that, when I was alone on the boat with the captain and the other guide, I could see that when preparing the guacamole the guide was scooping out the avocado flesh with a spoon that he constantly brought to his mouth to clean the avocado that was left in it. I let the guide know and she told me she would report it to her agency. Thinking about it later, I came to the conclusion that she should have warned the hikers not to eat the guacamole (my husband and daughter didn't eat it because I told them not to), something she didn't do, and I think she was just as complicit as the guide, who completely ignored all the food hygiene rules. A major mess to fix in my opinion. Otherwise, the excursion is a beautiful luxury.
