- Cancun - The day begins with a pickup in Cancun, either from your accommodation or the designated meeting point confirmed with your reservation. Once travelers are warmly greeted by the team and everyone is on board, the journey commences towards Yucatan and the Chichen Itza area.
This initial segment of the route transitions from the Caribbean side of the region into a day centered on Maya heritage, local flavors, cenote waters, and colonial scenery. Travelers can take this time to relax before arriving at the main cultural highlights of the experience.
- Chichen Itza - Before entering Chichen Itza, the route includes a brief stop at nearby points of interest. During this part of the experience, travelers will enjoy a buffet lunch at a local restaurant near the archaeological area, featuring regional dishes and traditional Mexican flavors.
After lunch, the group will proceed with the guides to the entrance of Chichen Itza. Inside the site, travelers will partake in an approximately 1-hour guided tour through one of the most significant ancient Maya cities, learning about its temples, architecture, cultural importance, and the lifestyle of this civilization.
Once the guided tour concludes, travelers will have about 1 hour of free time to explore the site at their own pace, take photos, stroll through the area, and soak in the atmosphere of this world-renowned archaeological landmark.
- Cenote Saamal - Following the archaeological experience, the tour continues to Cenote Saamal (approximately 1 hour away), a stunning freshwater cenote surrounded by the natural landscapes of Yucatán. This part of the day offers a refreshing change of pace after exploring stone temples, open plazas, and ancient history.
Cenotes held special significance in ancient Maya culture, often linked with sacred beliefs and the natural world beneath the surface. At Cenote Saamal, travelers will have time to enjoy the clear waters, swim, cool off, and appreciate one of the most unique natural settings of the peninsula.
At the end, the tour will head to the beautiful historic city of Valladolid; the return trip will take approximately 1 hour.
- Valladolid - The final stop brings travelers to Valladolid, a charming colonial city known for its colorful streets, tranquil atmosphere, traditional architecture, and rich Yucatecan identity. This visit provides a local and cultural closing touch to the day after the ruins and cenote.
Travelers will have approximately 30 to 45 minutes of free time to wander around the area, take photos, admire the colonial surroundings, and enjoy the authentic character of this historic town before starting the return journey.
- Cancun - After visiting Valladolid, travelers will board the transportation again for the return to Cancun and the Riviera Maya. This final part of the experience concludes the day with time to rest after a full itinerary through Maya history, regional cuisine, refreshing cenote waters, and colonial charm. The return trip to Cancun and Riviera Maya hotels takes approximately 2 hours.
