Be prepared to spend the entire day - The men that led our tour were beyond awesome. Very friendly, patient, informative and seemed to genuinely care about their job being done well. Our day started by being picked up at about 6:45 am and we got back to our resort around 8:30. It was a longer day than I expected. Expect a TON of walking, dress for the heat and expect little to no shade/relief. It was interesting to learn about the Mayan history. There were iguanas everywhere. The Cenote was beautiful, but very cold water! There was a rope swing that the kids and more adventurous adults were swinging from & jumping into the water. Rocks were slippery, wear water shoes for safety and comfort. Playa Del Carmen was basically a big shopping center, a few restaurants and the beautiful waterfront beach. We weren’t there long, so we went back for the day a few days later. Expect to be haggled by all of the shop owners, as they want you to buy. Also, you should never pay the ticket price, every single person we talked to about items we liked immediately dropped the price if we started to leave without buying. Overall, great bang for the buck. Bring some water, and snacks in a cooler/pouch as you can leave it on the bus to enjoy in between.
