Spooky tour of Cambridge - Me and my daughter went on the creepy Cambridge tour yesterday evening, however, unfortunately the original tour guide was off sick last minute. This is where Alex very kindly stepped in to take the tour, while still wearing his uniform from his punting job. Alex really made the tour come to life, showing us the all creepy parts of Cambridge that we never knew existed. He was able to go into depth about all the history behind the ghostly sighting and was more than happy to answer any of our questions. It was a really enjoyable evening, especially as Alex had to step in last minute. Well done!!

Fantastic tour! - We had an absolutely fantastic walking tour with James in Cambridge! His tour was incredibly informative, and we loved every second. We really made the most of our time, walking away with a wealth of new knowledge about Cambridge. James took us through all the main central parts of the city, and his passion and expertise truly shone. He was a fantastic guide, and we highly recommend him to anyone visiting Cambridge!

A Brilliant Sid-led introduction to the darker side of Cambridge - We were two in a group of 14 and found the experience memorable for all the right reasons. Sid was a great guide - just the right amount of humour and information perfectly balanced with the effortless shepherding skills needed to keep us together on a very busy Saturday evening in the town centre. Well worth the money.

Not as hilarious or engaging as expected - On the Website it says the following: "Our walking tours of Cambridge are uniquely entertaining and genuinely funny. If you’re actually wanting a walk around our historic city that you’ll enjoy so much you’ll wish it lasted longer, rather than counting down the minutes till it’s over, we really hope you’ll try us out." Combined with the 5-star Tripadvisor ratings, it seemed a no-brainer to go on this tour, and expectations were accordingly high. The trouble with high expectations is that you set yourself up for disappointment, which applies in this case. Our tour guide was not engaging at all, and quite uninspiring. We didn't feel the love and passion we usually get from guides on similar walking tours. His knowledge seemed extensive, but he was unable to share it with the group in a captivating manner. In fact, it was more a matter of rattling off the background story for each location (with a limited level of humour), then briefly asking the group whether anyone had any questions, before walking off at lightning speed to the next destination, at times making it difficult for us to keep up! I got the feeling he just wanted to get the job done as efficiently as possible, and if that was indeed the aim, then he succeeded, because the tour ended five minutes earlier than scheduled. Tick. Job done. I didn't wish it lasted longer, as suggested on the Website. In fact, I was actually glad when it was over, so that we could go for a drink. My partner felt the same. So, given the promises made on the Website, and the quite significant charge, I cannot hide my disappointment. In that context, I feel that my "average" rating is quite generous.
