- Phnom Kulen National Park - Departing from Siem Reap city at approximately 07:30 AM, embark on a 52km journey to explore Phnom Kulen or Kulen Mountain (where in 802, King Jayavarman II proclaimed his sovereignty as Chakravartin (Universal monarch), adopting a ceremony from the Indian-Hindu tradition at Phnom Kulen). Begin with a visit to the riverbed adorned with thousands of Linga (phallic symbols) etched since the 9th century, proceed to a Buddhist temple, and view the grand reclining Buddha statue (an 8-meter sculpture chiseled into sandstone in the 16th century, positioned behind the large Buddha). A vantage point is available for capturing picturesque views of Kulen Mountain. Conclude with the Waterfall, which divides into two sections. The first cascade measures 4 to 5 meters in height and 20 to 25 meters in diameter, varying with the seasons. The second cascade stands at 15 to 20 meters tall and spans 10 to 15 meters in diameter, offering a spot for relaxation and a chance to rejuvenate in the pristine waters. Upon completing the excursion, descend the mountain and stop by a Sugar palm village on the return trip to learn about sugar palm production and view local handicraft souvenirs. You will be dropped off at your hotel or a location of your choosing.
