Highlights
  • Callao - Arrival at the Port of Callao
We begin our tour by picking up each traveler from El Puerto del Callao.

Welcome to Peru! Disembark at the historic Port of Callao and take some time to explore this iconic seaport. Pick-up is offered to the traveler Meeting point:

  • El Parque del Amor - We will visit the Parque del Amor located in the famous Miraflores neighborhood, it is one of the best things to do in Lima. Opened on Valentine’s Day in 1993, in honor of lovers, this is the perfect place to walk and sit on its benches, made with colored mosaics reminiscent of Park Güell in Barcelona, while you read the different phrases of poets dedicated to the love. In the park there is also the famous sculpture “The Kiss”, by Peruvian sculptor Víctor Delfín, and a heart-shaped flower garden.
  • Huaca Pucllana - The Huaca Pucllana is an ancient archaeological complex located in Lima, Peru. Its panoramic view offers an impressive view of a pre-Inca pyramidal structure that stands out in the middle of the modern city. Discover the ancestral history of Lima as you contemplate the majesty of Huaca Pucllana from the outside and appreciate the unique fusion between pre-Columbian culture and contemporary life. Visit this fascinating archaeological site and immerse yourself in Peru’s past!
  • Plaza San Martin - Continuing our adventure we will arrive at PLAZA SAN MARTIN. Once we arrive at this square you will find yourself surrounded by historical buildings such as the Teatro Colón, the Giacoletti building and the Gran Hotel Bolívar and in the center of the square the statue in honor of General San Martín, manager of the independence of Peru.
  • Jiron de La Union - The Jirón de la Unión has been, for many years, the main thoroughfare in the Historic Center of Lima. It has history, color and an attractive commercial activity. Tour with us the best of its eleven blocks.

Starting from PLAZA SAN MARTIN, we begin to “jirone” next to the Government Palace, which occupies an entire block until we reach the Plaza Mayor. The Municipal Palace and the famous Club de la Unión are located on this straight. A few more steps and we will find, perhaps, the most important example of Art Nouveau (French artistic movement) in Lima: the photographic studio of the Courret brothers. On block 5 is the O’Higgins House, currently preserved by the PUCP and converted into an exhibition hall; and a few meters from there we can enjoy the new pisco sour ice cream offered by the Esbari Ice Cream Shop.

  • Jiron de La Union - Our next stop is the church of Nuestra Señora de La Merced which dates back to the 16th century. Crossing Emancipación Avenue we will see what remains of the famous Palais Concert, a meeting place for Lima’s intellectual elite during the 1920s and 1940s. In Plaza San Martín we are welcomed by the first luxury hotel in our capital, the Hotel Bolívar, and the imposing, but disused, Teatro Colón. Two buildings that remind us of the splendor of the Lima of yesteryear.
  • Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor) - The Plaza de Armas or Plaza Mayor, located in the heart of the historic center and in the same place where the conqueror Francisco Pizarro founded the city in 1535, is one of the most important places to visit in Lima. Surrounded by some of the most important buildings in the city such as the Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace and the Sagrario Church, this spacious square is also a good meeting point between tourists and locals around a beautiful fountain, being the most famous and busiest place in the city.
  • Museo Convento San Francisco y Catacumbas - Another of the places that we will visit in Lima that will impress you the most will be the Monastery of San Francisco, located near the Plaza de Armas. Very famous for its catacombs and its incredible library, where you can admire thousands of ancient texts, some from the time of the Spanish conquest, this monastery also has a basilica where the neoclassical style main altar, the sacristy, the chapter house and the cloister. It is also known for its enormous catacombs where some 70,000 corpses rest, some of them in crypts full of bones that have even been placed “with a decorative sense.”

Excursion to Callao - It was a lovely experience. From the agency (which solved the Reservation of the excursion in a very short time, the payment method, etc.), the driver Diego (very punctual and super friendly) and the Narda Guide, who really brought us a lot of information with incredible enthusiasm. You can really tell the affection with which you perform your task. Really super recommended.

A must do tour - Highly recommend this tour with trip advisor over a cruise ship excursion. Saul was our tour guide and was very professional and knowledgeable. His English was superb. There is much to see and learn in Lima and this personal tour was worth every penny.

Great Tour - Oswaldo was a superb tour guide. In-depth history of Lima. And tour meets the buses which shuttle you from the dock inland - so you do not need to start from a hotel.

Palomino Islands/ Swim with Sea lions Lima - We had a great time! Our tour guide picked us up from our hotel, entertained us with stories and history of Lima, showed us around the Callao district and dropped us at our boat. We then rode out to Palomino islands where we were surrounded by curious sea lions (who knew they screamed like goats?!?). The water was cold, but the experience was worth it!
