Day 1: Welcome to Lima, City of Kings and the Larco Museum of Cultures
Lima - Upon arrival in Lima, you will be transferred to your hotel. Begin with a tour of the Historical Center, visiting the Convent of Santo Domingo and Universidad Mayor de San Marcos. Explore Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the Municipality, and the Cathedral of Lima….
Day 1: Welcome to Lima, City of Kings and the Larco Museum of Cultures
Lima - Upon arrival in Lima, you will be transferred to your hotel. Begin with a tour of the Historical Center, visiting the Convent of Santo Domingo and Universidad Mayor de San Marcos. Explore Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the Municipality, and the Cathedral of Lima. Conclude with a visit to the Larco Museum to admire its collection of gold artifacts, textiles, and ceramics.
Day 2: Cusco, Capital of the Inca Empire
Cusco - Arrive in Cusco, meet and greet at the airport, and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy an exclusive city tour starting with a visit to the Plaza de San Cristóbal for a panoramic view of the city. Then, visit the San Pedro Market to experience local flavors and learn about regional products. Next, the Qorikancha Temple will welcome you with its splendor, featuring walls that were once covered in gold. From San Blas, the artisans’ neighborhood, walk down Hatun Rumiyoc Street to see the palace of Inca Roca, now the Archbishop’s Palace, and admire the famous Twelve Angled Stone. Continue to the Plaza de Armas to visit The Cathedral, which houses valuable colonial works.
Day 3: Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuaman
Sacsayhuaman - In the morning, visit Sacsayhuaman, an impressive citadel with colossal constructions surrounded by beautiful landscapes. Then, proceed to the Inca adoratory of Q’enqo, featuring an altar for sacrifices embedded in its rocky formation. Finally, visit the Puca Pucará lookout and Tambomachay, a monument of notable architectural excellence considered a pillar of the Andean cosmovision. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore the city.
Day 4: Inca Village of Chinchero, Terraces of Moray, and the Inca Village of Ollantaytambo
Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo - Visit the most remarkable sites in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Depart for the Village of Chinchero, known for its colorful and traditional atmosphere. Stop at a textile center to appreciate ancient Inca techniques for dyeing and spinning alpaca wool. After visiting the Inca plaza with its beautiful colonial church, continue to Moray, an Inca archaeological site with concentric agricultural terraces used to recreate microclimates. After lunch, visit the last living village of the Incas, Ollantaytambo, and explore the Temple of the Ten Windows, the Bath of the Princess, and the Sun Temple. Capture postcard-worthy photos from the heights of Ollantaytambo. Overnight in the area.
Day 5: Machu Picchu, The Lost Citadel
Machu Picchu - The much-anticipated day to visit one of the 7 Wonders of the World. Board the train at Ollantaytambo station and arrive at Machu Picchu station. Our staff will assist you in boarding the bus that ascends a winding road with spectacular views of the Urubamba River, which forms a deep canyon. The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will greet you with its incredible terraces, staircases, ceremonial sites, and urban areas. The entire place exudes energy. After lunch, return by train and transfer to your hotel in Cusco. Overnight stay.
Day 6: Route to the Andean Altiplano
Puno - Depart on a tourist bus to Puno, enjoying a scenic route accompanied by the Vilcanota River and the Collao plateau. The first stop is at the Church of the Apostle St. Peter in Andahuaylillas, known as “The Sistine Chapel of America,” featuring 17th-century mural paintings. Continue to Racchi, Temple of the God Wiracocha, where the remains of columns and walls give an idea of the monumental size of this Inca construction. The journey reaches its highest point at La Raya at 4,800 meters above sea level, marking the division of the waters of the Titicaca basin and the rivers flowing to the Amazon. After lunch, visit the Site Museum of Pucara, the birthplace of the famous Pucara little bulls. Arrive in Puno and transfer to your hotel.
Day 7: The Titicaca Sacred Lake and its Islands
Taquile Island - In the morning, board a motorboat to visit the Uros, a community that sought refuge in Lake Titicaca to escape various dominating cultures. This community continues to build their islands using ancient techniques and welcomes visitors to share their knowledge. Continue sailing to Taquile Island, where the community has preserved its traditions, clothing, and way of life. It is one of the few Quechua communities in a predominantly Aymara region, remaining untouched by modernity. The locals will welcome you with music and dances. Enjoy a nutritious lunch at a community restaurant, followed by a walk around the island to appreciate the beautiful views of Lake Titicaca. Return to the port of Puno and transfer to your hotel.
