• Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The only fully preserved portrait of the king is a three-inch high ivory figurine discovered in a temple ruin from a later period at Abydos in 1903. All other reliefs and statues were found in fragments, and many of Khufu’s buildings are lost. Knowledge about Khufu comes from inscriptions in his necropolis at Giza and later documents.
• Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple revealed several statues of Khafre. Some were found in a well in the temple’s floor by Mariette in 1860, with others discovered during subsequent excavations by Sieglin.
• Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also contained several statues of Menkaure.
