- Pyramids of Queens - The Giza Pyramids Complex, also known as the Giza Cemetery, is an archaeological site on the Giza Plateau in Greater Cairo, Egypt. This complex includes the Great Pyramid, the Khebar Branch Pyramid, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with the Pyramid Complexes, including the Great Sphinx. These pyramids were constructed during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom in ancient Egypt between 2600 and 2500 BC. The site also features several cemeteries and the remains of a workers’ village.
- Great Sphinx of Giza - The Sphinx is a statue of a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human, carved from limestone. It was likely originally covered with a layer of plaster and painted, with traces of the original colors still visible near one of its ears. Situated on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza, Egypt, the Sphinx serves as a guardian of the plateau. It is the oldest known large sculpture, measuring about 73.5 meters in length, including 15 meters for the length of its front feet, and 19.3 meters in width, with its highest point reaching about 20 meters above the ground. It is believed that the ancient Egyptians built it during the reign of King Khafre (2558 BC - 2532 BC), the creator of the middle pyramid in Giza.
