informative guide. - Our guide Ahmed Salah was brilliant, he explained what things were without going to deep and overload us with information. He knew the short cuts around the newly opened museum so we avoided the queues. He made our trip here perfect.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- a MUST visit!!!! - The Grand Egyptian Museum left us absolutely speechless! It’s truly an incredible experience from start to finish. We had a fantastic tour guide who was extremely knowledgeable and guided us through the most important exhibits, sharing fascinating details and stories that brought everything to life. The museum itself is stunning — you can clearly see the care, time, and attention to detail that went into every part of it. From the beautifully curated exhibits to the lighting and subtle background music, everything ties together perfectly to create an unforgettable atmosphere. GEM is absolutely massive, and you could easily spend several days exploring all it has to offer. We can’t wait to come back and see more once everything is fully open. An absolute must-see for anyone visiting Egypt!

Egyptian museum - I visited the Grand Egyptian Museum on the 4th day it was open to the public, and it was already packed with visitors — a clear sign of how much anticipation this place has generated. Despite the crowds, the experience was incredible. The highlight for me was without a doubt the King Tutankhamun exhibition. Seeing the tombs he was actually buried in, along with his sarcophagus and the legendary gold mask, was breathtaking. The layout and presentation made it easy to appreciate the artistry and historical significance behind each piece. The museum itself is massive and beautifully designed, blending modern architecture with Egypt’s ancient heritage. Even though it was busy, the staff handled the crowds well, and there was an exciting energy in the air — you could feel the sense of history coming to life. If you’re in Cairo, this museum is an absolute must-see. I’d recommend going early in the day or waiting a few weeks for the initial rush to ease, but either way, it’s worth every minute.

An Exceptional Guide — Ahmed Salah Made Our Museum Visit Unforgettable! - Our visit to the museum was absolutely unforgettable thanks to our amazing guide, Ahmed Salah. From the very beginning, Ahmed impressed us with his professionalism, kindness, and incredible depth of knowledge. His understanding of Egypt’s history and culture was truly remarkable — every exhibit came alive through his storytelling, and he made sure we understood the fascinating details behind each artifact. What really stood out, though, was Ahmed’s patience and compassion. My girlfriend is pregnant, and Ahmed went above and beyond to make sure she was always comfortable. He took breaks whenever she needed, helped us find places to rest and get refreshments, and never once made us feel rushed. His thoughtfulness and genuine care made the whole experience feel personal and relaxed. Ahmed’s English was excellent, and his explanations were clear, engaging, and filled with passion. He has a wonderful way of sharing information that keeps you interested from start to finish. He was also great company — friendly, respectful, and with a great sense of humor that made the day even more enjoyable. We left the museum not only with a deeper appreciation for Egypt’s incredible history, but also with a lot of respect for Ahmed himself. He’s a true professional and an exceptional guide. If you ever have the chance to visit with Ahmed Salah, don’t hesitate — you’ll be in the best possible hands.”

Beautiful Museum, Mesmerizing History - We had a delightful time touring the museum. Walking. Walking. Walking and almost no spots to sit or rest. There are some restaurants. Fabulous artifacts! Truly a must-see!

GEM experience - Good exhibit, I would ask to spend more time in the Tutankhamen exhibit, the time there was limited.

Wonderful artefacts. Woefully chaotic museum admin - Lavish building, housing thousands (literally) of Ancient Egyptians treasures just 40 mins walk from the pyramuds/Sphinx. Highlights are definitely Tutankhamen gallery and King Khufu ship. Unfortunately, the entrance is utterly chaotic, with no sign posts for how to enter the museum and the ticket line was not much better (several swines pushed in front of me). When you scan our ticket to enter, of course it doesn't work properly amd there is no one to help. Its odd as there are so many people who seemingly work there sitting around not doing anything. Food options are limited and again, chaotic with lines formed but no system to ensure those who queue first are served it. Gift shop has nice items but is v expensive (as you'd expect). Overall, it is a must see in Cairo/Giza, and the artefacts stand out for being some of the most beloved and sophisticated in human history. A warning for solo travdlers - wifi is poor and no semblance of a taxi rank - just the usual hawkers trying to scam and ripoff tourists; can it be so hard to put in a taxinrank with someone from the museum administering it? A shame after so many billions have been invested to see the utter shambles outside.
