You’ll visit the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, the Cairo Egyptian Museum, and shop at the Khan El Khalili Bazaar. Your journey begins with a meeting with our coordinator and tour guide. We start with the Great Pyramid in Giza.
- Khafre’s Pyramid - Likely opened and looted during the First Intermediate Period, the pyramid had its casing stones removed during the Nineteenth Dynasty to build a temple in Heliopolis by order of Ramesses II.
- Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The first pyramid, Cheops (Khufu), was constructed using approximately 2.3 million large blocks, totaling 6 million tonnes. Most of the stones are irregular in size and shape and are only roughly dressed.
- Menkaure Pyramid - The smallest of the three main pyramids in the Giza complex, the Menkaure Pyramid is located on the Giza Plateau on Cairo’s southwestern outskirts. It is believed to be the tomb of the Fourth Dynasty Pharaoh Menkaure.
- Great Sphinx - The Great Sphinx of Giza is a limestone statue of a reclining sphinx, a mythical creature with a human head and a lion’s body.
- The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - The Egyptian Museum is the oldest archaeological museum in the Middle East and houses the world’s largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities.
- Khan Al-Khalili - Located in the historic center of Cairo, Khan el-Khalili is a famous bazaar and souq established during the Mamluk era and named after one of its historic caravanserais.
