- Cairo - Begin your day at 8:00 am with a hotel pickup by a tour guide to embark on a full-day tour, starting with a visit to The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.
- National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NEMC) - The main exhibition hall showcases the four primary crafts that shaped Egyptian civilization: pottery, wood, textiles, and ornaments. Here, you can view the world’s oldest prosthetic toe, a skeleton dating back 30,000 years, the Kaaba Cover (Kiswaa Al Kaaba) which was the last one made in Egypt during President Nasser’s era, and the Mahmal, which used to carry the cover from Egypt to Saudi Arabia annually in a grand parade. Additionally, you can see the Kaaba key and the Clepsydra, an ancient time-measuring device. The museum also houses all the royal mummies, which were transferred in a royal parade from the Egyptian Museum to the Civilization Museum.
- Cairo Citadel - Explore one of Egypt’s oldest citadels, built by Salah El Din El Ayoub. Here, you will also visit and enter the stunning Mohamed Ali Mosque, also known as the Alabaster Mosque due to its alabaster stone covering.
- Mosque of Muhammad Ali - The Great Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha, or Alabaster Mosque, is located in the Citadel of Cairo, Egypt, and was commissioned by Muhammad Ali Pasha between 1830 and 1848.
- Hanging Church (El Muallaqa, Sitt Mariam, St Mary) - The Hanging Church is named for its position above a gatehouse of the Babylon Fortress, the Roman fortress in Coptic Cairo (Old Cairo); its nave is suspended over a passage. The church is accessed by twenty-nine steps, leading early travelers to call it “the Staircase Church.” The land surface has risen by about six meters since the Roman period, so the Roman tower is mostly buried, reducing the visual impact of the church’s elevated position. The entrance from the street is through iron gates under a pointed stone arch. Beyond a narrow courtyard adorned with modern biblical art designs, the nineteenth-century façade with twin bell towers is visible. Up the steps and through the entrance is another small courtyard leading to the eleventh-century outer porch.
- Synagogue Ben Ezra - The Ben Ezra Synagogue (Hebrew: בית כנסת בן עזרא, Arabic: معبد بن عزرا), sometimes called the El-Geniza Synagogue (Hebrew: בית כנסת אל גניזה) or the Synagogue of the Levantines (al-Shamiyin), is located in Old Cairo, Egypt. According to local legend, it is situated on the site where baby Moses was found. This synagogue’s geniza, or storeroom, was discovered in the 19th century to contain a treasure trove of abandoned Hebrew, Aramaic, and Judeo-Arabic secular and sacred manuscripts. The collection, known as the Cairo Geniza, was brought to the University of Cambridge in England at the behest of Solomon Schechter. It is now divided among several academic libraries, with the majority housed at the Cambridge University Library.
- Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus - Abu-Sergah & St. Barbara Old Cairo is an iconic religious site that beautifully preserves the essence of ancient Egypt. Located in Old Cairo, this captivating complex stands as a beacon of Coptic Christianity and an embodiment of the country’s rich history. Marvel at the stunning craftsmanship and timeless beauty displayed in the intricate designs, ancient relics, and sacred icons throughout the church and monastery. Whether you are fascinated by architecture, spirituality, or simply appreciate the allure of historical landmarks, Abu-Sergah & St. Barbara Old Cairo offers an enriching experience like no other.
At the conclusion of the tour, you will be transported back to your hotel.
