The Monument to the Unknown Soldier in Nasr City is a pyramid-shaped structure located in Cairo’s suburb of Nasr City. Designed by Egyptian artist Sami Rafie, it was commissioned by the late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat to honor Egyptians who perished in the War of Attrition and the October 1973 War. This site also serves as the burial place of President Sadat following his assassination in October 1981.
