Great aquarium experience - We had a couple of hours to kill in Cairns and decided last minute to go to the Cairns Aquarium. I'm so glad we did. Great displays/tanks and very informative. Seats placed around the displays for you to sit immerse yourself in the experience. Little ones were enjoying themselves with opportunities to touch things and get their hands wet. Plan to go back next time in Cairns and do the night tour. Definitely recommend.

So much more than just an aquarium - What an awesome visit this was! We learned so much about the wet tropics of. Queensland and their unique contribution to the natural world. The exhibits were fascinating as were the recorded talks on offer. Well worth the money. Learned so much. Only wish we could bring our grandchildren from the UK.

Wonderful experience - What an incredible experience! The tank displays are very impressive. Great range of animals. We had completed a reef tour 2 days before and thought for those people unable to get out there themselves, this is as close an experience as you could hope for! We highly recommend to anyone or any family who appreciates animal life

Great aquarium - Fantastic aquarium, but was a little surprised I saw/heard so little mention of climate change and bleaching events, apart from the one little polyp display. e.g., you could have a display showing timing and extent of events, % coral killed each time; projections with different degrees of global warming; then a properly informed guide on what average people can do to tackle emissions (there is plenty!) and likely relative impacts. I know it’s a bit of a ‘downer’ (and a lot of people would have flown large distances to see the aquarium, creating emissions on the way!), but the reef will be completely dead within a few decades if we don’t drastically do better.
