- Great experience! Staff very incredibly attentive to guests and anyone experiencing sea sickness. The crowds were managed well, everyone seemed to get their snorkelling gear very quickly. Submarine and glass bottom boat tours were frequent and there was enough space on the pontoon to fit everyone without feeling too crowded. Lots of fish and beautiful corals to see, a fantastic experience overall.

An Experience That Will Be Remembered for a Lifetime - Awesome trip! The facility out on the Reef is tremendous. The staff are friendly and helpful and to have the opportunity to snorkel and see it all first hand is the chance of a lifetime. Thank you.

First dive in the sea – an unforgettable experience on the Great Barrier Reef! - I recently took a one-day tour to the Great Barrier Reef – and it was an absolute highlight of my trip in every respect. After completing my Open Water Diver license in Germany, it was my great wish to experience my very first dive in the open sea on the Great Barrier Reef – and that was exactly what became possible. On board I was warmly welcomed and given the opportunity to join a small group of certified divers. Our dive group was accompanied by Iris – an experienced instructor who shone with calmness, competence and genuine enthusiasm for diving. Especially for me as a beginner, the gold was worth it: She explained the whole process clearly, was always approachable and guided us through the dive as if she had her eyes on every movement and every need. Thanks to her calm nature, I always felt safe and in good hands – even if of course there was a little thrill involved. And then there was the underwater world ... just breathtaking! Colourful corals, curious fish of all sizes and shapes, fascinating light plays – a true natural wonder. It was just as magical as you'd dream of the Great Barrier Reef. A big thank you to the whole team – and especially to Iris for her excellent care. This tour was perfectly organized, passionately managed and a milestone for me personally. Absolutely recommended for those who want to experience the reef – and not only dive safely, but also inspired.

Fun Family time on the Reefs. - The Sunlover Reef Cruise was everything I expected. The crew was attentive and helpful. We had so much fun snorkeling, touring on the glass bottom boat and the submersible. They had everything we needed for an enjoyable and adventurous day out at the Great Barrier Reef.

Fantastic day out.... - Great day out seen lots even if the weather wasn't so good but it didn't stop us from enjoying our day. Just make sure that you take sickness tablets before you get on the boat. Chris the captain and the crew were fantastic, thankyou for the experience.

Still a wonderful experience. - No hesitation at all in recommending a trip out to SunLover’s excellent Moore reef pontoon. The boat itself is big and spacious, the crew friendly and professional, and the food was surprisingly excellent across the board. One of our family has severe food allergies and the staff sought us out and brought him his special meal, which was both huge and tasty. The pontoon is a lot of fun, from the waterslide to the (very small) underwater viewing area to the snorkelling on what has to be one of the safest and the most beautiful bits of reef you can tour. The reef area is roped off, which helps the less experienced feel safe and you can’t go outside the ropes unless with a guide. We booked a guided snorkel tour with a marine biologist and it was really enjoyable. The whole trip showed just how much the staff cared, which was not the case on the tour we did with another company. Massive variety of reef life was on display and the day could not have been more enjoyable. The sea was a bit rough going back to port and the staff were all over it, caring for unwell Passengers and making sure everyone was safe and well looked after. We have taken this tour before, 3 years ago, and on that day we did both intro dives and the Under sea helmet walk, all of which were super enjoyable. The staff were, in part at least, the same this trip as three years ago and the experience and care displayed were top notch.

Nice but not great for solo travellers. - This is a tricky one to review.... Pros First ever visit to the Reef, which was obviously a really good experience. The excursions in terms of the glass bottomed boat and semi-submersible sub were also really good. Cons I was travelling on my own and I didnt think this was great for a solo traveller. There must have been close to 200 people on my trip, which is obviously good for sunlover, but it felt crowded. It was difficult to find room to leave things to swim. There is quite a lot of secondary selling going on here, some of which is fine, but I thought the introductory snorkel was overpriced , considering what was charged for the trip in the first place, and it may have been difficult to get on following the point about the crowding. My advice to anyone looking to visit the reef is shop around and see whats best for you. There are shops in Cairns that sell these excursions and these may be better than online booking.

Weather put a damper on the day - This trip should have been cancelled and money refunded because of the weather. The day we went out we were unfortunate with the weather. Once we were on the boat we were given a strong warning that the boat trip to the pontoon would be rough and were advised to take travel sickness pills which we could purchase from the small kiosk onboard. The trip out was uncomfortable and very very rough with many people experiencing sickness, even after having travel sickness pills or bands. Not a great start to the day. When out at the pontoon they day was drizzly and miserable. trying to make the best of a bad weather day some of our family did snorkel for as long as they could in the cold water. Lunch was provided and was adequate. The captain of the ship was rude and grumpy and witnessed him reprimanding both adults and children in that manner, not great customer relations. In the right weather conditions the day and with a captain with a more pleasant disposition this could have been an awesome day. Make sure you double check the weather and the sea conditions before the free cancellation period ends. If the sea and weather conditions look bad better to cancel and not go than have a miserable day.

A bit disappointed - The stuff could be more polite, we spend our money there… We had a school group and weren’t allowed to go on the upper deck, we travelled the world to come and see the ocean and were stucked on the down deck with bad visibility and too many people all the way to the reef. Disappointed.
