Embark on an all-day excursion from Cairns to the vibrant underwater ecosystem of the Great Barrier Reef. Regardless of whether you’re an expert or a newbie, a snorkeler or a scuba diver, this dive and snorkel journey from Cairns offers an exceptional glimpse into the rich marine biodiversity and unique coral varieties the Great Barrier Reef is renowned for. The trip encompasses visits to three distinct dive sites and is most enjoyable for individuals comfortable in aquatic environments.
- Minimum age for all diving activities is 12 years. Medical conditions apply and some people may require a doctor’s certificate to participate in scuba diving..
- Please advise any specific dietary requirements at time of booking
- After a single scuba dive a wait of 12 hours is recommended before ascending to an altitude of 300 metres or greater. If doing multiple dives an interval of 24 hours is suggested.
- Ceritified Diving: Certified divers must possess an internationally recognised SCUBA certificate card.
- Please confirm your booking at least 24 hours prior to travel.
- Between May 18th and June 27th, 2025, Silverswift will be operated by our vessel, Poseidon, which differs from the vessel pictured on this site.
- All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire onboard prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor.

Amazing day on the reef. - Diving on the Great Barrier Reef was awesome, getting to see all sorts of marine life from sting ray to glimpse of a reef shark. Vanessa was awesome dive instuctor showing cool parts of the reef and going though a little tunnel. Overall it an amazing day on the Reef. 10/10

Great Staff, Great Accommodations, Great Dive/Snorkel Spot - My family went with the 2 dive and 1 snorkel package and it was definitely worth every penny! We were all 1st time divers and the instruction and patients of the instructor we were with was fantastic. The instructor also stayed with us and "toured" us around the reef, pointing out all kinds of cool things we most likely would have missed if we were on our own. If you don't like the dive switch to the snorkel. If you don't want to dive at all, go with the all snorkel option and cruise over the mountains of coral at the Great Barrier reef to see this incredible location teaming with wildlife!

Great Day with Silverswift - This was a great pick for snorkeling the great barrier reef. The Silverswift crew was efficient, friendly, and informative. It was nice to be able to snorkel three different spots to see more variety of reef and sea creatures. The snorkel gear was in good condition and the lunch was also very good. I would definitely use these guys again for a full day on the reef.

Enjoyable experience - This boat was the nicest boat we've been on to go snorkeling/scuba diving. This was our first dive after our certification. The guide was very helpful. He took care of our tanks and hoses between dives. He gave us good tips. We had 6 people in our group. We saw some neat fish and a couple of turtles. On the second dive, we did some swim throughs. There was also hot fresh water showers when you got out of the ocean. We went to Flynn Reef. The lunch included fruit, pasta, curry, chicken legs amongst other things I don't remember. There was hot tea and coffee at every stop. It took about 1.5 hours to get to the reef. We forgot our towels. We rented some from the boat but they were expensive. The boat was very well staffed and ran smoothly.

Even if you can’t swim….Fantastic experience! - I traveled with my family with varying skills in the water. From certified diver to a weak swimmer - and we all had a fantastic time! The crew is friendly and helpful and was able to handle all of us well. The reef is gorgeous and definitely a must-see. I highly recommend this experience!
I’m not a strong swimmer but with the life vest I was able to enjoy the beauty without being scared. The crew keeps their eye out for people at all times so I never felt lost. I think everyone should try this!

Professional Organization - The adventure was well organized and the crew was impressively professional. They genuinely cared about our safety. The food exceeded expectations. The talk about the reef was unexpected and good. One suggestion would be offer everyone the ginger tablets as we boarded. The water was very choppy when we went, and a lot of people were seasick.

Great company to dive the GBR outer reef with. - A really superb visit to the outer reef. Very professional staff. Vinni, my dive-master, was fantastic. I'm 66 and hadn't dove in 8 years, so he got me a quick refresher course, and then I had 3 great dives.

Great Experience!! - Getting to see three different sites was really cool, each one was a little different. The pre-brief was very informational. The crew were all helpful and informative. The nature talks between locations helped us to know what we were looking at. This cruise provides prescription goggles and basic sea sickness pills. The lunch was delicious and plentiful - both in amount and options. Bucket list item successfully and exceptionally checked off!!

It was cool to see the... - It was cool to see the great barrier reef. The seas were a little rougher than would have liked. Overall the crew and snacks were great. As well as the snorkeling.
