Just what we wanted - We went on a day cruise to the Reef with snorkelling option and it was a fantastic experience! All gear is provided, including wetsuits. The crew took us to a spectacular reef and we had plenty of time to snorkel (two sessions before and after lunch) and explore the underwater word, luckyly the weather was very calm, no big waives. Everyone on the boat was helpful and friendly, though at the beginning it was not very clear about where and when we will have the instructions but we worked it out. A special Big Thanks to Elsa who helped our 10 year old daughter get at ease with snorkelling - it was her first time! Elsa stayed with her all time making sure she is safe and enjoying the swim - much appreciated! The boat itself Aquaquest was clean and comfortable, breakfast and lunch were good and there was the special reef-safe sunscreen made available throughout the cruise. I would definitely recommend this tour by Divers Den!

Absolutely Amazing Day!!!! - We booked a certified scuba diving day with Divers Den which consisted of two dives at different locations. We have just quailed as PADI Open Water divers but only just and we were a bit nervous. We communicated our feelings via email before the day and eventually booked a private guide for the first dive. We arrived early and were immediately greeted by one of the crew and completed the medical forms. He also signed to witness our certification. The whole logistics and organisation felt incredibly professional and robust, putting us at easy very quickly. Then we met Lily, our private instructor/guide. She immediately made us feel safe. She oozed confidence, knowledge and most of all calmness and consideration. After speaking to her, we decided to upgrade our second dive to private too. This was the best decision we could ever have made. Although it cost an extra AU$160 - it was worth every penny. Lily was amazing. So calm and steady. She guided us around the reefs on both dives, whilst giving us pointers to improve our techniques. We couldn’t rate her high enough. Because of her support, we spotted Nemo, Dory, a ray, 3 sharks as well as a million other fish and sea creatures. We felt relaxed, safe and comfortable. There was also a professional photographer on board so that you could guarantee a keepsake photo of the day. All the hard work of kitting up the BCD was done by the crew - everything!!! We were signed in and out and had safety numbers so one could be left out on the reef. All we did was enjoy the dives!!! If you are planning to dive in Cairns, I honestly would advise you to go with Divers Den and if you’re lucky enough to be teamed up with Lily - you’re going to have a life changing experience you’ll never forget. Thank you Divers Den and thank you Lily!! X

Great things to see - It was a greta trip. We stopped at two dive sites and there was plenty to see. The sea was a bit rough so the snorkeling was choppy. Nevertheless, it was a good trip.

Amazing Day on the reef - The ship is large and can go out to some of the farther reefs. It was very crowded which was not great at the beginning. However, the people we met on the way out were awesome and the employees seemed to really like their jobs. We were divided up in groups of snorkeling, learning to dive, and certified divers. That help a lot. First the divers went in, then the learners followed by the snorkeling. The reef is obviously huge so it did not seem crowded at all. The snorkeling spots were amazing! They know exactly where to go to see the best of the reef.

Great snorkeling... - Great snorkeling experience with Divers day, Only 80 people on the boat and only 30 of them snorkeled, so it wasn't crowded. Beautiful corals and fish, nice guides. Plenty of time in the water, great lunch. I have nothing to complain about the snorkeling.

Cattle call for snorkeling! - I chose this outfitter because of its high ratings. Uhhh, I can only assume the ratings are from a bunch of first-time snorkelers and divers. I have been on snorkel boats in at least a dozen different places around the world and this ain’t it. The boat was incredibly crowded and also serves as the transport to their overnight live aboard boat, so there was luggage everywhere in the aisles and on seats. The whole thing was fairly chaotic and divers definitely took precedence over the snorkelers. Lunch was chicken wings and some cold sides, like coleslaw, salad, pasta and potatoes. No drinks were offered (but you could buy soda and beer); we eventually discovered there was a jug of water towards the back of the boat and upstairs, but no one ever announced this. The good things I will say is that they let us have 45 minutes on the reef at each stop. Also, the steps/platform on the back make it very easy to get in and out of the water. The staff was generally pretty nice, but some were definitely more helpful than others.

Not Again - I recently had a dive experience with DiversDen, and it was incredibly disappointing. There was hardly anything to see underwater—no sea turtles, no seahorses, and even the fish were scarce. The whole experience felt overly commercialized, lacking the relaxation and fun that diving should offer. Everything was rushed, including the meal and the instructions, the staff seemingly more interested in bombarding us with information than ensuring we had a good time. I was advised to add a guided dive, but this only made things worse. Our guide, Brian, swam so fast that I spent the entire dive just trying to keep up with him. There was no time to enjoy the underwater scenery; it was a constant struggle to keep pace while he hurried us along with irritating sounds. This was far from the enjoyable and relaxing dive I had hoped for. I wouldn't recommend DiversDen to anyone looking for a quality diving experience.
