Colca Canyon 3-day trekking - Great experience with a very good guide, Marcos. Rocky road, used sticks, but good tempo and many pauses. Wonderful landscape.

Great Trek / Great Guide - My girlfriend and I just completed the 3 day / 2 night tour of Colca Canyon and thought it was amazing. The Canyon was stunning and the 3D/2N trip gave a perfect amount of time to enjoy the hiking, as well as relaxing in the accommodation at the base of the valley. In reality this tour consists of 2.5 days at the Canyon with 3 mornings of hiking (around 3-4 hours a day) and 2 afternoons relaxing in the valley. The first nights accommodation was simple from the outside, however, the room was lovely, and then the second nights accommodation was the opposite, with a lovely outdoor pool area, however, with relatively simply rooms. The food portions were also good, however, snacks will be needed for the last morning (hike up to breakfast). If you have the time to do the 3D/2N trip and want to take things at a more relaxed pace then I would recommend over the 2D/1N trip which seemed very rushed. Finally, big shout out to our tour guide (Ivan). Ivan was great at allowing everyone to go at their own pace whilst providing us with info on the valley, wildlife and local communities. He was also lovely to chat to outiside of the time spent hiking.

Three day tour of Colca Canyon - We booked the tour through Oasis tours. We booked the three day tour so that we could enjoy the hike and experience more, definitely the right decision. We had Ivan as our guide, he was superb, at the start and at various stages over the three days he would get everyone together and give information about the area and the people. The accommodation on the first night was excellent but just ok for the second night. The food over the three days was excellent. The views of the Canyon, mountains and river were breathtaking. I’d highly recommend this tour especially the 3 days as it was relaxed and allowed you to take in the scenery and go at an easier pace. The two days would have been too rushed.

3 day tour is the way to go - What a great trip. Colca canyon is so beautiful. WE maybe didnt need a guide though it was nice that someone else did the planning. The informative portion of the guide was minimal. He was a lovely human and we enjoyed him. HE gave us a lot of space to hike on our own. We were also so glad we did the 2 nights. We had the time so we just had more time in each place in the bottom (san juan de chuccho and sagalle). Sagalle had some mean little biting bugs so bring bug spray and don't be out of the cold spring water with skin exposed!!

3 day hike at Colca Canyon - Alex was our guide for the 3 day/2 night tour in Colca Canyon. He was knowledgeable, super friendly, and made our experience much more enjoyable. The accommodations, food, and transportation were great. I recommend doing the 3 day hike over the 2 day as it gives you more time to enjoy the hike, go at your own pace, and take-in the surroundings.

Recommended:) - We decided on the 3-day tour, which turned out to be much more relaxed. Not only do you spend one day in San Juan de Chuccho, which is beautiful, but you also have the hostel and pool all to yourself the next day until the other groups come. We are especially remembered for our guide Willy, with whom we were two, which allowed us to get into great conversations. Even when one of us suffered from altitude sickness, he showed himself to be very emphatic and was always concerned about our well-being. Without him, who was able to show us so much and tell us so much, and who was also likeable and open, the experience would not have been nearly as great.

A Colca experience! - Without a doubt, the views were heavenly, but our guard, Irvin, topped it all! As the last person, Irvin included me in all activities and was highly engaging and motivating!

Value for money, try to book the 3 days hike !! - Booked with Oasis, the price was right for 2 days and organized well. We had opportunity to do thermal bath and stop at few scenic places. Accommodation and food were very good. It was very tiring as we hiked 21 KMS in 2 days with not much breaks. Next day we had to start hiking at 4 AM, it was challenging and fun but did not have time to enjoy the scenic canyon.’ I’d recommend 3 days hike for sure.

Not the best hike - The hiking was a miserable experience, food and accommodation was ok. The guide was pleasant enough but mostly absent and clearly didn't want to be there. Scenery was nice but the hiking was rough, in places quite dangerous, relentless and not enjoyable. It wasn't an achievement, more of a relief to be over. The best bit was the limited time at the hot springs on the last day. Lots of pressure for timings on last day and the lunch you need to buy was not great value for money. However, you didn't have much choice. I can't say I recommend it.
