Brilliant 3 day hike - We had a fantastic time on the 3 day colca canyon trek. Carlos was a brilliant guide (one of the best in our 3 months in South America!). He was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the area and Peruvian culture overall. We were unsure whether to do the 2 day or 3 day hike, but very pleased we chose to do the 3 day hike as it gave us time to experience the canyon and its environment more. Food and accommodation was excellent.

Must do if you come to Peru - 3 incredible days in the Canyon del Colca with our guide Carlos. He is from the area and knows a lot about the local flora and fauna. That's very interesting. Great organization. We always ate well and were well received. Thank you, I recommend 😊

Things to do if you are near Arequipa - It was great especially in 3 days is more chill. With our guide carlos that explains us a lot about the villages and culture of these regions of Peru. Excellent friendly guide.

Very nice experience - Very worthwhile. Very nice accommodation in the middle of the canyon. The guide Carlos was very friendly and serene with interesting infermations. I would definitely recommend the 3 days as there is more time to enjoy the nature and the accommodations.

Wonderful and unique experience - Our 3 day/2 night Colca Canyon hike was a wonderful and unique experience! I had gotten very sick the day before with gastro-enteritis, making the hike quite strenous for me. Our guide Luigui (Tonni) was very knowledgable and very kind. He arranged to adapt the meals to a lighter diet for me and adapted the pace of the hike so it got easier for me. He also arranged a mule for the last day as I had gotten too dehydrated to make the trek up. He also taught us a lot about the region, its nature and its history. We learned more about inca rituals and the famous Juanita mummy. Even though I was sick, we will always remember this as a wonderful and unique experience. The views and nature were absolutely incredible!

Colca Canyon - We did the three-day canyon hike. And it was amazing. But it was very hard. Our guide Carlos was patient and calm. He told a lot about the environment and the customs of the local people. After the hike we went to the thermal baths and drove through the Andes where we also made stops and got explanations. Highly recommended

Amazing experience hiking in the Colca Canyon - We had an amazing experience hiking the Colca Canyon. My dad and I both aren't experienced hikers, so the support from our guide, Carlos, was fantastic. He helped us a lot when we were struggling, even hiking down to bring us some coca cola for sugar, and took a lot of time to explain the history, culture and nature around us. Hiking for three days gave us the chance to relax and take more tome, which made our hike not stressful or busy at all. Again, many thanks to Carlos and if we ever visit Peru again, we'd probably do a tour of the Canyon again.

We had a great time doing... - We had a great time doing the 3 day Colca Canyon trek. Willy was a great guide, he let us walk at our own pace and gave us lots of insight into the local community. The accommodation was really nice (especially the pool in Sangalle) and the food was good too. Highly recommend this trek!

Great guided trek. Recommended if you want to spend more time in the canyon. - We had an excellent 3-day trek in the Colca Canyon with our guide, Ivan. The communication was clear from the start, and we appreciated the freedom to go at our own pace. Ivan's English was great, and he did a fantastic job of bringing our group together.
The trek itself is challenging, but Ivan set a manageable pace and kept us motivated. The accommodation along the way was also better than we expected.
We thoroughly recommend this trek to anyone looking to take their time and fully appreciate the beauty of the canyon. We would have comfortably done the 2 day trek, but it was a real joy to relax in the Oasis and soak up the wildlife. A brilliant experience.
Bring plenty of water and best price en route is via the trek side sellers.

Awful company, great canyon; pay less to go with an alternative provider - We paid slightly more to go on this trip with Oasis due to strong TripAdvisor reviews. This was a mistake — I wish we had chosen a slightly cheaper operator, as it was unclear where the extra money went. On the whole, Oasis provided a substandard experience, and strike me as a greedy company.
They pack you like sardines into a minibus for all transfers; this includes overcrowding the bus and having people sit on the floor (which I don’t believe to be legal). The tour started with a breakfast that was, genuinely, the worst meal I’ve had in years of travelling — completely unsuitable for a day of trekking following a 03:00 start.
The rest of the food on the trip was good, though portion sizes are stingy. The company also instructs you to only bring 2L of water, implying that some drinks may be included at mealtimes. This is not the case: you are required to buy extra water at incredibly inflated (20 soles for 2.5L, for example).
The tour culminates in a trip to a hot spring/Andean buffet. Neither of these experiences are optional, yet Oasis requires that you pay separately for these experiences. It is also worth mentioning that, on the last night of the trip, Oasis tried to overcharge a couple on our trip, claiming that the trip was now going to cost them more than the advertised/agreed price due to exchange rate changes.
From the outset, our tour guide was drinking heavily (at the first stop and following each evening meal). This culminated in our delayed departure on the final day, when he didn’t show up to meet to group at 04:50, as agreed. On our final night, he also had issues paying for the group’s accommodation, which seemed to be due to having spent a lot of cash on drinks (which also might explain the company’s aforementioned effort to overcharge the couple in our group).
Following the completion of the trek, we joined another Oasis group for the springs/buffet, before some people transferred on to Puno, with others returning to Arequipa. Our guide left prematurely, with several logistical aspects for onward travel unaccounted for. Subsequently, the other tour guide (who speaks English with an Australian accent) became irate and aggressive towards members of our group due to frustration that our tour guide had left him with some issues to solve. This included repeatedly telling our group that he was ‘pissed off’, several efforts to confront a member of our group (with whom he was unhappy due to a change in buses), and him angrily shouting down the phone at other members of our group who had gone to Puno.
Oasis did provide a partial refund due to the numerous issues with our experience. However, they then slightly underpaid on the refund. This, in many ways, summarises Oasis’ approach to business and their customers.
The parts of the tour unrelated to Oasis — the canyon itself, the accommodation in the valley — were great. Unfortunately, none of this had anything to do with Oasis. The 3-day option is the best in terms of spacing out some of the strenuous hiking, so I would recommend that you do this with a competitor such as Baby Llama.
